Haha. I would call it, "The most expensivest bottle rocket launcher in all of Washington, Coupe." :)

Serious though, those are too much. I think this is one of the main reasons I love this place. Someone might pull a punch now and then, but 99% of the time or more, you're going to get straight answers from plenty of people with a good eye. (even if it's humor injected) And your car will probably be better for it.

    My personal examples:

    Track Nose

    Stance 1

    Stance 2

Por favor, El Toro, cut back those headers to the block, make a sculture or something out of them in your back yard. This is a car you've got here not a kiddy-toy.
You're on the way to a nice hotrod, don't jump onto the Rat train and lose your cool altogether.

  4. Nice car, ditch the RAT ROD pipes, or at least cut the ****ers down!

  5. wht did you make them so short? If you're looking for attention maybe they should be two feet longer. Coupe looks good tho.

Just because it was done previously in 1958 doesn't mean it looks good and is safe.

Time to put on some lycra and a vinyl mask and wrestle a bit more....

    And, as an aside...

    Blown SBC...
    Slicks...
    Channeled...
    Holey frame, axle etc...
    Chop...

What on this expansive green marble makes you think your coupe needs MORE at***ude?!?!?...

As long as your gear shifter sticks out the roof higher than your headers, you should be fine. ;)

But really, it is funny to me that the same people that think it is cool to run 8 carburetors, fenderless, hoodless, chopped, sectioned, and shortened think that these headers are over the top?! Come on...Jim, I say run them bad dogs! I love 'em! :D

...they do look somewhat like boat headers...I like things a little more understated...really like the coupe tho.

if i saw it at a show i'd call it the 32 with the ugly headers

the car looks great other than that and the headers really distract you from all the work you've done to the rest of the car.

  19. Holy ****, that is funny. I probably would have gotten beat up by some karate dudes if I'd been there, because there is no way I'd be able to stop laughing.

    I'd call it Silly.

And the "at***ude" it has isn't what you think it is.

With pipes that big, it is announcing its low-self esteem.

Remindes me of what ***o calls "Well built bad idea". The headers are perfectly aligned and the sweep that you have is really well done.

Maybe you can figure out a way to sweep them down without obstructing the doors.

Jim S, we are all affected by the times we live in. When long hair was in, in the 70s, even network news anchormen wore long sideburns and psychedelic ties. But as we look back at the photos of ourselves back then, we cringe. Plaid polyesther pants look so dumb now. Levis 501s looked cool then and now. Because a cl***ic style comes from a lot of homogenizing of the best ideas. Your coupe has so many *****en details from what I see in the few pics here. The pipes seem out of the context of the total design. I predict that you will change them and rather quickly.

But, since you built them, might as well get your picture in Ol' Skool Rodz. But you'd have to paint it them, or it will always be that 5 window with the ugly pipes.

My vote? Love the car, hate the pipes.

Well you already have the holes in the frame, run 'em out there with a little slash cut to match the angle that the frame goes back on, maybe a little bigger pipe or chrome tips ?
