Well myself and a few friends are starting a new car club in San Antonio Texas within the next few months

We Have decided it is going to be a laid back group of friends under one name kinda club, every member is equal (No Pres Or V. Pres), every members vote counts towards what we will and wont do as a club, no major bullshit rules ( there will be a few but nothing stupid)

we will be having our first meeting/bullshit fest in a couple of weeks(probabely after Roundup) and at designated spot

a few of the things we have discussed doing
    - starting a regular cruise spot on a saturday evening at a local burger joint
    - once a month casual meetings (mostly just a cruise to a designated spot in or out of town or a gathering at a members house or shop )
    - Getting plaques done by O'breins Truckers
    - Getting Club Shirts done
    - There has also been a lil discussion on trying to get a show organized in San Antonio

If you are interested in possibly becoming a member or just checking out the club ideas and club members cars feel free to PM me for more details

ill post more info on the exact date, time and spot as we get things organized and set into motion

  2. oh oh pick me pick me hahah ok so I was watchin shrek earlier. Sounds like a cool deal to me. I wanna talk to some of the local guys here this weekend and see what they have goin on as far as clubs in the corpus area goes. I hate politics. I was pres. of a local 4x4 club for several years, and seem to find a bunch of back stabbing C**k sukkers here in CC's 4x4 community.

Congrats on starting a club with a group of laid back friends.

I would maybe reconsider the choice of club names. The Outlaws is a fairly known 1% bike club. Doubt you would run into many in Texas. But it is a name that is taken by guys that may not necessarily want to share it.

Just trying to help with something ya'll might not of thought of. Not trying to get in your business.

Yeah, that would probably more likely be an issue in Texas.

    Hey Gotti,
You mentioned this some time ago, and I've been waiting. I thought you dropped the idea so I joined up with the PUSHRODS here in San Antonio. I've been in several car clubs and I prefer the rules, (without order there's chaos). Of course my wife agrees with you, she hates rules. It was even suggested to her by me, and even a few women on different hot rod sites, that she start her own all female hot rod club. She thinks that there would be no response from the women. I wonder what the women rodders of Texas would say to this.

All I can tell you is develop some ground rules. Year cutoff for cars, membership requirements, etc. If it's too losely structured, like anything else, it will collapse.

A5window, as far as clubs go down here....You've got the Coastal A's, the Gear Jammers, and now the Kreatures Corpus Christi Chapter. For rules and info, PM me if you're interested in the ground rules and regulations. Not extreme, but they're the gospel.

oh yeah there is definately some ground rules
but keeping away from the bs gold chainer/ lowrider car club type shit

    cutoff 64
we dont want the kinda guys/gals that are gonna have the excuses when its time to do things like " but tonights 5 dollar dances at the Zebra" or " me and some friends are gonna go drink up at the lizard lounge for awhile", " car is all torn apart in garage" (drive your daily driver then) you know bullshit like that, hey you gotta work thats cool going outta town, death in family, wives dropping a baby hey we are cool with that

you know what i mean about the rules like hs said you have your gospel rules then you have bullshit rules

members pay for their own shit (plaques & shirts and so on )

damm Lokata im sure you woulda loved the club and the cars

well nothing bad to say about pushrods or anybody else but we drive our rides we go to shows (and i dont mean autorama) and we cruise

i believe and build my cars on the thought that if Ronnie ( one of the guys from the club) says "hey lets go jump in your sedan and cruise to cali for paso" i can do it without having to turn a nut or screw on my ride, just fill it up and go--- my cars are driven (damm near on a daily basis) and i like to do shit so im sure the club will be the same way

hell im planning on taking the club to my property at medina lake for our second meeting ( probabely a good 60 + mile all hill country cruise)

so keep in touch if things dont work out with Pushrods or you have a second thought or change in mind holla at me

    you know thats another thing

members are responsible for their own actions (your action reflect on the club as a whole)

i been asked to get in a few car clubs in the past and several of them give the impression that they cruise somewhere to get drunk

hey im a young guy 30
and i hardly drink and for dammm sure i dont drink when i drive plus my best freind and businees partner doesnt drink at all

so if we joined one of these clubs we have to listen to the rash of shit about "oh man drink some beers with us" or " oh you pussys wont drink with us" or whatever
and i sure aint down to listen to that crap

dont get me wrong i do drink but only when im in the mood not because the clubs all together and we are gonna get drunk

i dont drink to get drunk, i drink to have a good time

Yeah, I'm the biggest drunk I know. I just got past 90 days of sobriety though, and I hope I don't get back on it for a while. Had a long history of problems with alcohol. 3 out of 4 of us don't drink, and the one that does is getting be unreliable. Might be shaved down to 3 members soon. Plan a day on his car, and he flakes. Got too drunk the night before. Our guys know that if they make an ass out of themselves too many times in a drunken stupor, they're out.

It's not the Outlaws you'd have to worry about down here. It's the Bandidos who may think you're affiliated somhow.

You may want to check with your local HA chapter to see if Outlaw is a kosher name to use or not. Getting you teeth kicked in for no reason is never fun. Seriously look into that.

It would be great if we could get all the car clubs from San Antonio to assemble together at a burger joint. Then do a cruise around the Route 1604 county loop. (Forget the I-410 city loop, it would be a cluster-fuck ending up with multiple fender-benders on the north side of the loop.) Then re-assemble back at the starting point for burgers and brew. Of course this would put half of Bexar County Sheriffs Dept in therapy.

Won't find too many HA chapters down here. Need to check with the local Bandido chapter in Texas.

Back when I rode...no club affiliation, but I had on occasion hung around some Banditos, and my personal impression was "you dont mess with them, and they wont mess with you" but I also know it doesnt take much, I personally wouldnt chance the 1%er name that might set one of them off..its not a pretty picture.
