These things WILL push up to 400 PSI, we stopped there, prob will go higher. Not entirely a good idea to try to find max on these things.
On my MAZDA I am Running a factory A/C compressor it is a sanden. It unlike the york puts oil out in the lines but if you put a trap on it seems to do fine. I have been told that it wouldnt last 6 months but I have had it for 5 years!! It does great run it at about 180 psi and no problems. It does put a little oil out to the lines but only the one closest to the compressor. It is the best thing I have ever done. I run Air tools and stuff of of the 12 gal tank. I Have run a die grinder and a D/A off of it just for fun. It does great. Brian //NC\\ Kentucky
I just finished up my comressor set up last knight and it seems to be putting out alot of oil even after the oil mod , I may have put to much oil in the compressor. I also used a check valve genie sold by granger witch releases the presure in the compresor after it shuts off and it is nice and compact. My compresor is the 10 cu in tucomse it fills the tank fast . here is a pic of the check valve / blow off , and my compresor set up. I painted the compressor and fittings with a camo brown spray paint to make it look as though it came in that engine bay, although the ac compressor is mounted in the factory spot down ant to the left of the pic.
here is the link to that valve / unloader. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/itemDetailsRender.shtml?ItemId=1611628484
Man this tech has been great I had a Dakota Bagged and I hated the noise from the compressor, I am working on a 68 chevy truck now and I do believe I am going to use this set up on my truck.
WOW!! a blast from the past . The majority of the A/C compressors that I have came from 78-82 or so Ford Fairmont/Mercury Zephyr with the straight 6 engine.Ford used this style of compressor from the early 60's to the 80's on everything. They can also be found on 80's Volvos,70's-80's AMC/Jeep and some other cars.
