Any idea who would have the front tube style shocks for a 1955 Packard Patrician? It has auto level, if that makes a difference. The local tire place could only find a listing for rear shocks. Google search only shows the lever action shocks, which I don't have. The ones that are on there are a no name brand, they're both blown, and I don't think they're the right size since they were bent.

We just replaced all the suspension bushings, shocks & brakes on a 56 Packard 400 with auto leveling with parts from Kanter

I just need the shocks right now. I was hoping maybe someone knew a parts number for one of the commonly available shock brands so I could buy them today. Hollander guys?? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Always remember the first stop for shock absorbers should be the printed catalog at your local auto parts store which lists the antique or old car listings. They may have it on the computer but don't count on it. Both major shock makers have a catalog or listing of older applications, it is a great resource and one I'm sure Kanter and others take good advantage of for resale to those who don't know.

We looked through several catalogs, before going to the local Les Schwab. The guy there also looked in several catalogs, and could only find a listing for the rear shocks. He couldn't find anything on the computer. He also told me that the shock makers are phasing out shocks with threaded posts at both ends.

I just found it hard to believe that in the last 52 years no one has made a front shock the same size as the one I needed.
