I'm putting together a deuce tudor (highboy) and am looking for lighting suggestions. I like my King Bees and my So-Cal F1 style mounts, but I want front turns signals, too. I've seen the "gennie" style lights with signal bulbs installed - too big. I've seen the AutoNik headlights with integral LED's - too modern. I'm not interested in a bucket with an external light on top like some of the Guide units - just not the look I'm after. Spreader bar with integral lights - no thanks. Not interested in any kind of "billet".

I know I'm narrowing the possibilities considerably, but I'm betting someone on the H.A.M.B. has seen or used something that will fill the bill. I'd appreciate suggestions, and especially pics.

How about the short-bucket BLCs with the small light on top ?

It used to be fairly common for guys to use the cowl lights as turn signals. I even had them on my 32 roadster years ago.

I wonder if you could mount early VW buckets into a chrome mountable outer bucket. The signal was inside the headlight if I recall correctly.

Bob Drake makes a deal to put the turn signal bulb inside the headlight. It is mounted to the headlight reflector. I know that they work out good in '36 Ford lights with the halagon reflector/bulb setup. I havent messed with that part of the coupe yet but, alot of folks around here are using them. Most people put them in on the bottom part of the reflector. I was thinkin of puttin them towards the top. On top I was thinkin that they may be a bit out of the line of sight while not driving.
I like the high beam turns idea but, we couldn't get away with that here in PA.

I found these little military blackout bullet lights at a swap for 5 bucks. I thought they compliment the headlight fairly well.

We used early 50s backup lamps for front turn signals on the 32 3W coupe project we just finished up. They're stainless steel, have a small base bezel built in and a stud. We mounted them through the tops of the fender ledges just in front of the radiator shell over the frame rails. They are Guide, have gl*** lenses and look like miiature headlamps. We used yellow bulbs and they are very visible.

Meant 60's Dodge Dart turnsignal things.

They mounted on top of the fender, shaped like a small missle, had an amber lens in them and lit up with the turn signal.

Later A-bodys had them also, but they were like little "cowl induction" shaped things instead of missles, still with the amber lens. They were kinda small but still functional, and discreet. Although maybe too small...

On my deuce tudor I used a pair of Ron Francis bright lights. The ones with the amber lenses. I mounted them inside the lower part of my grill shell behind the insert. You don't really notice them during the day but they are plenty bright enough to be seen when the signals are used. They also give a cool effect when cruising the fairgrounds or parking lots at night with just the parking lights turned on. They are also easy to install and maintain.

Thats actually a park light but is was popular to shave the blinkers off the top of the fenders and wire it to the park light. It's really hard to see them blinking day or night. I've done it before.
