Me and my dad just recently put money down on a 51' merc pickup. Just looking for a bunch of pics, and inspiration! and what would it cost to bag it?? and any pics of installing the bags?? Thanks
Well....to be totally honest with you....they look almost IDENTICAL to a Ford Truck....besides the lettering
i dont know about the US or the Canadian trucks but, i hardly ever see Merc trucks....most people have the fords, i find that anyways
Its going to be pretty badass driving a hotrod everyday toi highschool, other than my dads 66' chev pickup straight 6 Kyle

Try carnut.com , they have lots of pics, might have some of trucks. Try themercuryman.com as well. He's in Ontario and deals exclusivly with old Mercs and Fords. Flatman
Mercury trucks were only sold in Canada vs. as Fords here in the US. I'm sure it had a lot to do with marketing. Much as nowadays, would a Merc truck sell to the common buyer? They probably had better results in Canada.
As stated above, Mercury trucks were a Canadian model, as were Fargo trucks in the Chrysler lineup. Canada had ford dealers and also Lincoln/Mercury dealers. They wanted a truck to sell, so they had Merc trucks. On the Chrysler side, Dodge and Plymouth were sold at separate dealerships.....Fargo trucks were sold at Plymouth dealers. GM had similar ideas............Chev/Olds had Chevy trucks.........Pontiac/Buick dealers sold GMC trucks. I have this 51 Ford............sorry, not a Merc.
Thanks Gas Huffer, poncho62..dont be sorry man, i should have put Ford in the title but i messed up, and i think thats why im not gettin much responses to this, but now i cant change the title... Kyle
