Ever since following plowboys builds, I have had ideas of what could be used/cutdown for the *** end of that style build, I find my eyes choppin and sectioning various cars as I throw around this idea....anyway, this *** cut of a tank fairlane is available locally and I thought the rear lights are a bit big but the afterburner styling looks great in my eyes.....even the top light housings are similar in size to my 30 model A roadster top door swages....what do you guys think? dont beat me too hard, go easy..:) ...it would be ugly, but it works in my eyes. The bumper would have to go though.......Bert

  2. Not sure about the rumble seat -- but the rest of it is pretty cool. I was thinking about a '63 Ford myself, but I think I like your vintage better.

EDIT: Yep, the bumper makes it look heavy -- crop that and maybe add a small three-bar nerf between the big lights.

Like the afterburner image this makes! Yes! Arron (Plowboy) has spawned again! (He's getting prolific as Bob Marley!)

I think the heavy look looks great, just put a mexican blanket over the seat and it's perfect, or some tuck n roll if you're highbudget. The "after" picture looks terrible.

I always get sad when i see these couches, a rear end that beautiful should be on a car! But i'd still love one in my garage...

try cropping it with the upper lip of the bumper remaining, so that it follows the line of the tailights, it should make them look smaller. then all you would need is a trunk lid to cut up, ditch the seat.

What about t******* that bumper along the bottom of the curve. Or even duplicating it with a chrome tube. It would leave the leave the highlight but drop the weight.

Just an idea and I agree, Aaron has us all looking at things with scissors...

    Wow, Hovercraft with afterburners! Cool!

Seriously...I DO like the afterburner look. My F-1 has '53 Ford sedan tailights that I recessed 4" into my rear pan. It has always looked like "rocket" lights to me. That's in my brain...

Here are some pics I found of a creation on Ebay awhile back. This is a cut down Impala, but it should give an idea or three of what you are looking at. I've got some other pictures, so let me know if you want to see them.

  14. You've got a good idea.Maybe some '59 Caddy taillights to replace the turn signals.Definately would need a deck lid, maybe with two reversed scoops. There's my 2 cents.

Exhaust pipes need to come through the upper taillight bezels (more functional than add-on Caddy lites)... vic
