I just recently purchased this car. It needs quite a bit of work. BUT... I can't stand putting any more money into new 25,000 dollar plastic models they call cars... For alot less than 25,000 that there askin for new cars I can build a hell of a car that,,, not to sound corny..... I can have a connection with.. Something to be proud of not just a means of transportation. My 7 year old is all sorts of excited. He has seen me build ALOT of motorcycles but he thinks the idea of working on a car is "KOOL"!! anyway.. here it is. AND yea,, I know.. it has two doors too many for some people but that is just enough doors for me. http://www.slickschoppers.com/Cars/Slicks51Chevy.htm
plenty of threads on here about 2 door conversions...that is what is next in line for mine...have fun and stick around here there are alot of good people, cars and a wealth of knowledge that cant be found anywere else...and always keep your kid involved...my 2 1/2 yearold just helped me strip the trim off my 53...have fun

Hey Slick, whats up? Wait till you see how much room a car takes up when disassembled. I've got a 51 truck and a 55 210 I'm working on right now. Hows the shovel coming along?
Anyone else notice the trim on the tops of the rear fenders that lead up to the taillights? I've never seen those before. Is that some kind of factory accessory thing?
