I am looking at getting a new air compressor, and I want to get something that will easily keep up, and I have to have clean dry air, since i will be painting with it. There will be about 3 people using it. I was looking at the CP and Ingersol Rand screw compressors. Does anyone know what those are supposed to be like? I like the idea that you can get them with the drier on it already. Or considering the price, would i be better off just getting a "normal" compressor and buying the cooler/drier seperate? Hopefully someone can give me some advise! Thanks a lot in advance!!!
I saw the CP screw types at the drags last year and i thought they were cool because they didn't make as much noise as the regular type but i don't have on so that pretty much all i can tell ya
All I know is the bigger the better and getting dry air is a lot mor complicated than you think. air temp makes a big difference too. I have 3 driers an air cooler 2 traps 2 oil seperaters and my paint line is as far away as pos from my compressor. I have an ingersol rand. I don't have a problem any more with water or oil but that what I had to do to get it right and it wasn't cheap. keeping your compressor cool is a good idea
Do a search over on the Garage Journal. THere's about a zillion pages of good info on compressors and dry air etc.
thanks so much! to be honest, I didnt even know Garage Journal existed. looks like a great site. i really appreciate the help guys!
