'41 ford 1/2 ton rear-end

i am looking at picking up a '41-ish 1/2ton ford rearend for the RPU, and want to do an open drive conversion. i checked out hotrodworks and they seem to have 2 different kits. one for a 6 spline and 1 for a 10 spline rearend. which kit would work for the '41 truck rear?

i'm not sure if the truck is a V8 truck or a 6-cylinder truck, (theres no motor in it) also, would a stock 1/2ton rear be strong enough with a 2.3L banger with auto ****** in front of it?

If it is a 1/2 ton with a torque tube, it should be a 6 spline.

I'm sure it would. I've seen them survive with a lot more torque applied to them than a 2.3L will put out.

 

Yes, hold up OK. As a rule the pickups were 4.11 and the cars 3.78, optional was 4.56 in pickup.

 

Hey man, those early Ford rearends were holding up behind 392 Hemis, Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles, Nailheads, Pontiacs, Chevys, and on and on.
A 2.3 Ford 4 cylinder? I think so.

 

A Harley servicar rear would hold up to that motor stock.

Don't sweat it put it together and if it breaks build it stronger.
