My girlfriend and I take the 53 to the lake often, about twice a month. We catch turtles and enjoy the scenery. People gasp when they see the car with the canoe on it. This is what cars are for, using them.

55 is a grocery getter (big trunk), one of my 59 trucks usually hauls stuff to the dump, the longbed 59 hauled a lot of building materials before I wrecked it.

so the weather is nice up in Detroit this time of year?

Amen on "using them"... Never had the desire to buy ANY vehicle I wasn't planning on using the crap out of.

That's a bad ass snapper and a bitchin' 53! If I didn't respect snappers so much as top end predators, I'd be frying him up for supper!

I drive my 56 Vicky to work every Friday and everywhere on the weekends. My daughter and I enjoy just driving around town and freaking out the squares with the exhausts rapping....

60,000 miles in the first two years I had mine on the road. But I used it so much I got "used" to it and sold it for the current project - man, I miss it now though...

I don't dare drive mine, I am too afraid that the sun will fade the paint.

The first time I met Dennis was at Decatur last year. I remember hearing some old men talking at the booth I was at saying "You see that car there? These young people are DRIVING them like that! They don't even care about paint." That's when I turn around and see this green 54 with a an old Allstate scooter among other finds hanging out of the trunk.

  16. That is a big ol' male snapper. They are pussycats in the water. Get them out and they are pretty good at removing fingers.

That boy looks 30lbs or so. They make good pets when they get used to you.

I don't do nearly enough in my car. It was my Dad's, and he left it to me when he died. He drove it daily to work for about 10 years in the 80s and 90s, and it has all of the parking lot dings to prove it.

He and I once tried to use it to pull a stump in the front yard, but couldn't get any traction. The grill is pushed in from when he used the coupe to push start the neighbor kid's car. Stupid kid had it in reverse when he popped the clutch, and his rear bumper jumped over Dad's...

I really think my Dad would have wanted me to drive the crap out of it like he did, but I can't bring myself to do it. I need to grow a pair, and drive it like I stole it.

Being filmed by the AHRF. That is Porkshop in the sedan and me as the flagman and Shane in the coupe in a mockup dragrace. Also Henry Astor with the AHRF, it was alot of fun. This is the shot in the new Deuce DVD available on the AHRF website.
