I have a 62 pontiac tempest wagon.I have 15" smooties and I want a set of thin white wall tires. They have to be radial because I travel alot.I would like to have a tire smaller than 205/75-15.Please I need help. The tire store says that all radial pinner whites below that size has been discontinued. Please tell me where to find them,Thanks
Unfortunately the tire store is right. There used to be a 195/75/15 but has been gone for about one year. We do have a 185/80/15. I'll give you a comparison of specs to help. 205/75/15: 27.1" height, 5.1" tread width, 8" section width 185/80/15: 26.7" height, 5" tread width, 7.7" section width Hope this can help you. Hey try 205/70/15. I'm in the prossess of setting up some whites as well. 195/70's are hard to find but do exist.
we used the 205/70/15s , a little shorter than the 75 series tire. Available pretty much anywhere, too.
Try: http://resources.coker.com/tire-tech/tire-installation/bias-ply-to-radial-conversion-chart.html If you order their catalog the item description tells all sizes (outside diameter, width, etc.). You can use that info to figure out if going to a different size would bo close to what you have.
Education time here....What are PINNER whites. I'm guessin' thin whitewalls...Duh!! But what width white is considered PINNER??? I have never heard that term before!!!!
