Hey, so Im still a newbie, but I was bored and figured I'd throw up a few pics. First is my 35 Chevy truck project, just brought it home and snapped a few of it in the driveway..... Next is a few old mopars in a local junkyard around here I saw last weekend, should probably add these to the junkyard post, but oh well... Last is an off topic 69 Camaro in town, it's one of those sat there forever and is NOT FOR SALE kinda deals.....sooooo sad
I think that is a late 36 Pickup rather than a 35. The early 36 and 33-34-35 are taller looking and more square in the windshield area. I may be wrong but my gut says no.
He's right...it's a late 36 to 38 cab...all the same except for some minor differences at the cowl where the back of the front fenders bolt up. The local DMV prolly wouldn't know the difference if you said it was a 35 or a 37 anyway.
Good looking '30s Chevrolet. The 'rust in peace' never fail, keep them coming. Ten grand in cash may sway the 'mara owner. But then it's just 'another Camaro'.
how much did you channel the cab....it is newer then a 35, I own 2 34-35's and they are different especially in the hood, and they have a sqaure back window not oval...need any other parts????
I've figured out that its a 37-38 with help from here.... I dunno what I need yet, havent really got into it, just got it home...still working on other stuff... maybe a front windshield frame..
Well I'm considering doing something similair and cheap. Saved (for free) an '37 Chevy Flat-Bed (horribly rusted) from the crusher. Bottom couple of inches of the cab were either rotted, damaged, or missing. Sawzalled off the cab at the bottom door hinge and stuck it someplace dry. And I've got an pretty much free F-1 rolling chassis. I've seen model-A's on late 30's Chassises...so this really isn't too much of an stretch. And its all for nothing really. Anyway...here I shortened the frame/wheel base, and pushed it forward an couple of inches, getting the axle as far forward as you possibly can while kinda hiding the frame horns helps the proportions of the truck, without going on to an suicide type front end. I know its an Chevy truck...but still...these frames are kinda decent. I plan on doing the same thing if the F-1 frame is used, I bought into a bunch of them a couple of months back, and I feel that they look a little better than rectangular tubing.
thats funny that you did that photo edit because I had already done a few yesterday.... Do you think I could just move the cab back on the chassis and set everything up front further back to get the same look as your picture??
Yeah, thats pretty much what I'm going to try and do. Your still going to have to leave frame for the paralell leafs to attach to and stuff, but get the cab/engine/etc. as far back on the frame as you can. Oh yeah...And use the grill shell or radiator to hide the front crossmember if you can, if not set it behind it. Which is what would have to be done with the F-1, since its so far forward on the frame, So I think I'll just set the grill and everything behind it (pretty much dead over the axle) and it shouldn't look much worse than an crossmember or an spreader bar or something. But still, Its paralell leafs, but thats no real crippling to the truck, atleast its got an straight axle underneath it. MS-Paint sketch or something, pixels from ambigous sources. Wheels and tires are kinda disproportianant.
