Well finally got the car out for more than an around the block spin. Put about 100 miles on it this weekend. All went well except for a fluid leak at the hydraulic to bearing. Even got to scare my first seasoned citizen. poor lady was weaving all over the road, I pulled up next to her put it in neutral adn blipped it a few times. I pulled by and she went into oncoming traffic back behind me into my lane and finally recovered. I almost felt bad..... 17 mpg too...
Damned hot rodders!! Scaring old ladies and using profane gestures on the highway... I think you should channel it some more, I can still see daylight. Looking good!!
looks great, guess you got your carbs fine tuned or close, post some more pics now that you got it out in the sun.
Yah got the carbs diale in pretty good. Got it set up semi progressive. real smooth with no hickups, maybe a little rich at idle. Could be a little lower... its about 1/2 illegal right now by the real wheel height. Gets in and out of parking lots fine though even with two people in it. Had my 6' 4" 285# buddy with me yesterday and I was a little worried about speed bumps, but no problemo.
Oh and the meat thermometer in the radiator works well! somewhere between ham nad poultry is good running temp!
Damn, you work fast! These old cars we build look cool in the garage, but are so much more impressive when you see them on the road next to the boring late-models.
Dude, You gotta get a youtube vid of that thing running! I want to hear that motor and the exhaust you built. Fucking bad ass!! Way to get it done.
Yah went up to Auburn with a couple friends. out to the airport nad parked out on the tarmac infront of the restaraunt for lunch. It was a good time. got 17 mpg too. I'll do the U-tube thing when I have time. Still haven't dumped the clutch yet, I'm alittle afraid of what might happen. Also drove it to work yesterday, about 40 miles round trip.
sweet.......nothing like flippin off the public when your driving your hot rod..............good luck with it,,..rooster
