The Old Crow Lives!!.......Bellytank update

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bobby Green, Dec 17, 2006.

  1. Looks great Bobby. Can't wait to see it in person. Do you know which building you're going to be in (as if you could miss this car)?

Yup,... That's me alright. Just screwing around. That scoot is fun, but it's a ***** to drive in the city... the wheel base is too long for sharp turns. Took her to Bonneville last year.. that was perfect.

Lucky Burton had the day off today so we whipped up some fillers and doublers for the tank. Any excuse to play with rivets. Here's some pics.

Wow, Luke's engine turning came out awesome!!!
I've got some pics of him working on it, I'll post up tonight.

Bobby, that thing now has the FLOW to it. Congrats can't wait to see it on the salt and congrats on TRJ shoot. I know you've ran 105 in it, whats the goal?

EDIT: Added pics. I was out in LA and stopped by Savage Speed and happened upon this. 1st pic is of Luke on the DA, the 2nd is Aaron Von Minden stepping in to do some block sanding. The english wheel left some pretty hefty grooves, but after some block sanding..... Now that engine turned really looks bad ***.

Here is a neat little update to the Old Crow saga.
Fellow Hamb member Mad-Cad read this thread and decided to be an awsome guy and mail me a jumbo bottle of Old Crow whiskey from 1957 that has never been opened. !!!!!

Here is what he emailed me:
"Send me your address and I'll ship this bottle of Old Crow Whisky to you.It will look good with the rest of your crow paraphinalia
Here's the story of how it came into my possesion.
I'm a property manager up in Aspen Colorado were all the Billionaires go to ski.A family we take care of bought a house in Downtown Aspen,The house was built in the 50's for the owner of the Gates rubber company,Thee Mr Gates! He used the house for ski vacations until his death a couple of years ago.
The new family asked us to clear out all the cupboards and alot of the furniture and 'dispose of it'.
There was one locked cupboard in the ba*****t and it was full of unopened bottles of liquor from the late 50's and early 60's.
So the bottle has a little bit of history behind it."

So Mad-Cad is an awsome guy, and I just wanted to let everybody know.

I'm not openeing the bottle until we get the record at Bonneville. And if we get it in Aug. Everybody is invitied to stop by for a shot.
    yummmmmmm.

Your tank appeared in this months edition of Custom Car magazine here in the UK!

  15. Most cool story. The whole thing.

The whiskey is a little more than 4 years old, though... smooth as scotch. :)
