Browsing thru the latest R&C last night I spotted Jimmys latest Gary Howard masterpiece.Anyone have any pictures?Shots of Lee Pratts shoebox would be cool too, both cars are my idea of what a custom should look like.
There was a thread on this a couple of weeks ago but i can't bring it up with a search.............anyone know thw link? I boned over that car
Yea I saw it in SF also, done right! Had to laugh at a doofus looking at it and asking his wife if he was any relation to SRV. I just walked away shaking my head.
That car is top shelf like everything he has...but it is also the most understated of all his cars. People like us realize how cool it is, but I noticed how the general public was walking by it at LA. I sometimes wonder is that is not the best form of success with a car, when the gear heads get it and the rest miss it because they know no better.
Well I hope some magazine does a feature on it,his cars, like his music are always tasteful and understated.I recently picked up "Different Tacos"live T-Birds and there are some great versions of cl***ic T-Bird songs. That 54 reminds me of a guy from Canada a few years back,John St.Germain,he did a merc in the same style.I googled Gary Howard and found a few pics there.
I can't help to think ther must be a better choice for the 2 tone on the Shoebox. The green isn't doing it for me. I hope they make it to the Roundup.
It was meant to be that both those cars were together at the show. Both done just right and no over-kill. I have never seen a '54 like Vaughn's look that nice and for Pratt's shoebox........I am lost for words. I see him every week in my store and never once told me what he had going on down at his studio and then I see this at the show. I don't know who holds a better secret, Pratt or McPhail? Can't wait to see McPhail' (you ****) chebby! Awwww, to only be at the Roundup. Man I wish I was a jetsetter!!!!!!!! KNUX!
I can't help to think ther must be a better choice for the 2 tone on the Shoebox. The green isn't doing it for me.........ya gotta see that in person. It is very suttle and breaks up the rest of the color. KNUX!
I just got off the phone with Pratt and he told me that both his and Vaughn's rides will be( Roundup) there that ya see in the pics here. KNUX!
Wow,this took awhile to download but was worth the wait! Thanks guys,I'm green with envy that I wont be at the Roundup. Both cars kill,my brother had a 53 Ford and now that hes gone I am contemplating doing one in his memory.
Yep, the 'lesser' of the two in my humble opinion...... but he sure do have some nice cars, I'd kill for his Fleetline of a few years ago.
I don't wanna turn this post into "guitar talk monthly" but JLV plays guitar just like his cars are.On point, cool, laid back, subtle, less is more, tone.Listen to the old Fab T-Bird stuff, that dude has STYLE.And his cars are excellent
Both of these cars are spot on! They really got it nailed down, really clean and simple and mild custom...
