I don't know why I assumed transvestites could help me, but I thought I'd visit their sites and ask... Bwaahaaaahaa!

Try transmissionadapters.com They have diagrams of Ford trannys, with measurements, but the numbers are hard to see. Their an American Co. and should be able to help you with your trans i.d. Good luck.

    Greg--

if there are any numbers cast on the trans that look like

    C1TE-xxxxx-A

the first two digits will tell you approx what year the trans is. C1 is 1961, D8 is 1978....the letter is the decade, the number is the last digit of the year.

thanks for that link, it's a good one!

  11. if it's the stock 3-speed it will have provisions for mount on top rather than bottom of trans. go to old econolines.com they can probably help. post a picture for someone to id it. 61'-67' econoline's are the same. 63'68' gm vans had similar mounting system.

    from Tucson AZ

I would imagine you have to get the clutch that matches the engine. 1978 Maverick 200

the pressure plate probably has to match the engine, but the disk would need to match the trans if it's different....
