I would have to say a road trip to Bonneville with this great group of friends. Life don't get any better!

One of my favorite events used to be in ***berland, Md. It was a nice ride up Rt. 70 and the area up there was very picturesque (how ya like that for a fancy word?) We would camp there for the weekend. My kids grew up with that run. Here's a pic of my boys from the 80's. They are now 22 and 20 now.

  4. from the garage to the front yard. Then I lock the gate with the no tresp***ing sign on it, and go back in the shop and work on the other project. It gets the car a little sun, me a little exercise, and I don't have to put up with people. Most car events would be great if it wasn't for the people.

I like hauling mine to ANY dirt track in the East and racing the hell out of her against other old dirt modifieds. I've never found the allure of driving an old car to a cruise or show and sitting in a lawn chair. For me anyway, rods , customs or plain old beaters like my '64 Ford are fun to drive but I get damn bored sitting next to one.

Downtown...few blocks away...Lawrence, KS has the old time style downtown mainstreet (plus restaurants, college bars, music clubs,etc.)...just cruise....then out to some back roads and hit it hard a few times. Keeps the juices flowin' until the next roadtrip.

Thanks Guys & Gals............swimming was the best answer so far! If you like going to the nostalgia/vintage/cl***ic drags you are all welcome to come out to our races, you will get front row parking next to the track, maybe even a cool prize or just catch a buzz from the cooler and the nitro!
My favorite place is out of the trailer, to the pit area, to the staging lanes and then down the 1320 at 190 mph!

How about just "down the street"-to the hardware store, to the corner bar, out to breakfast, maybe to the nearest sprint car race?

The Olde Susana Cafe for breakfast, Neptunes Net (on PCH) for lunch and then off somewhere else that's hot rod "friendly" for dinner. As long as I'm on the road I'm happy.

I guess Paso is my only real MUST DO event but it's cool to get over to Bob's from time to time if I can get off work early on a Friday.

I live in a State University "college town",and frequent a local coffee shop about a mile from my home;..I go there (weather permitting) almost every day. Many students ask questions (and often for rides) regarding my 26 T. Occasionally older folks will approach me about the T also. I never get tired of it! It's ALWAYS fun to answer their questions and either let them sit in it or take a ride. After all, that IS what it's for!
