If you missed the fist post, check it out http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153043 Steve found some more pictures for me. He bought this T roadster from a dry lakes guy, and made it his drag car. Another pic of the flatty in it
Steve is the guy in the back Mas Okomura was a friend of his. Coincidentally I just read the article about Japanese American involvement in dry lakes racing in the latest Rodder's Journal. Good stuff. He raced the car at Saugas in SoCal. These pictures are dated June 1954
He couldn't remember who the guy is in this picture...cool roadster though. Written on the back of this one is "Lakes, '54" That Vicky rules... Here's Steve's current hot rod. If I get more I'll be sure to post them. Thanks for looking!
That T is magnificent, a well proportioned and just right on car! It should be duplicated right now!!
Mas is the short guy with the shades. He ran SaMo Wheel & Brake in Santa Monica until his fairly recent retirement, and was the go-to guy for wheel alignment for West Side hot rodders for decades. Super guy.
Great pics again Fidgity! I really enjoyed the first batch of pics and have been hoping you would post some more. Thanks to Steve too for sharing the photos of his bitchin T, his latest roadster is not to shabby either.
