That's just wonderful. How long was it waiting to be "discovered"? The real blessing is all of the parts you got with it. You just saved about 4-5 years of scrounging by picking up such a complete project.
I know about the wife thing. If it weren't for the sweetheart I sleep with most of my collection would be in someone elses garage.

Here is how it all happened....

Sodas38 stopped in while on a business trip in OK, so I decided to take him on a quick shop tour. When we got to Pooch's shop, there was guy I had never seen before hanging around the shop. Pooch had worked on his daily 2 weeks earlier and the guy was kind of a lingerer. He really didn't know much about cars nor did he have much interest in them.

He saw the Model A Coupe in the bed of my truck that I'm taking to the Roundup for delivery. He asked me if I liked old cars.... We chatted for a few minutes and he said he knew where there was an old car and gave the description that sounded like my house. When I questioned him about it, he said he wouldn't let me know where this car was -- his little secret.

I blew it off and started to walk off. He said since he didn't have the money to buy it himself, he might as well let me know it was. He made a phone call to get permission for us to come and look. While he was on the phone, I asked what the car was. They said a '32 Ford. I looked at Sodas38 and said "yeah right."

On the way to the house, we were laying odds of what this car really was -- Model A, Dodge Sedan, etc. When we walked in, I just about fell over. The car was covered in insulation that had fallen from the ceiling. It was surrounded with boxes of stuff and lawn mowers. We looked around and I spotted parts in the rafters, on shelves, in boxes.

All night I laid in bed trying to decide how to scrounge up the cash, what to do with it if I had it... This morning I got up, called my dad, and we went over and got it.....

MAJOR BIG THANK YOU TO MOMMA FOR NOT MAKING ME SLEEP OUTSIDE WITH ELVIS TONIGHT.....

NICE man... real nice. I'm no flathead genius but I know the basics plus a few other useful bits - and you're welcome to PM me with specific questions.

    :)

Just goes to show ... they are still out there. :)
    Yes, even 32's

As a long time 32 owner ... I know where 5 or 6 Deuces are that are just hidden away. Cannot buy them ... not for sale ... :( but someday ... someone will get them. A few are just old cars ... with sentimental value to the owner and they are not car folks ... they just parked it years ago ... a few are in pieces and the owner says he is going to " Fixer up " but the fellows are 70 plus and have not done anything to the cars in 25 years ...

One is a 3W ... minus the rear garnish molding ... and I have already bought a rear garnish for it ... cause his wife says she is going to call me on the way home from his funeral ... :)

The guy was telling Pooch about it earlier, but you know how non-car guys are. Half the time they send you on a wild goose chase. Pooch is a Chevy guy anyway. He he he....
