Trying to figure out how far to drop my truck now that I have the new bed on. Also any ideas for scallops or such are appreciated.

That's what I'm thinking. I can get about 2" or 3" in the
front by removing leafs and do the rear with either shackles or a combo of removing some leaves (don't want to kill the hauling capacity). I was also thinking wide whites maybe or at least turning those damn white letters inside...

  4. Several years ago there was a 59 shorty identical to yours. One of my club members bought it and SLAMMED it with a nova sub and a rear frame kick. He painted it green and put a little "Froggy" name on the tailgate. It was killer! Those things look best right on-the-ground...

    Zman,

I don't know a lot about it, and have yet to drop mine at all.....
(hell, I'm gonna get a 3" drop just by changing out the 19" wheels)

But, from what I understand, a person can get a good 3" out of removing leafs in the front. Also, those MONO leaf set ups look pretty enticing as well. But they come with about a $300 price tag. I know El Polacko (sp?) on here can put a drop in your axle as well. (correct me if I'm wrong).

The rear....? I dunno. I'm not going to drop mine any in the rear....YEHAWWW. [IMG]

Hey man I just noticed the KEGS.....Need any help with lowering that thing? hint hint... [IMG]

Hmmm.. a keg hauler. Yeah I got a few kegs lying around. Sorry they're all empty. I used to own a bar and when I shut it down I kept a couple of the empties. Thought they might come in handy.

Thanks guys. I'm not gonna bag it, just a little lower than it is. It's my daily and shop truck so I'm trying to keep it simple. Probably gonna go with some other wheel, I only put the discs on there to cover up the ugly ass wagon wheels. I think the blue metalflake is growing on me and hopefully I can find the trim for the bed. Maybe some scallops ala VonTingler at some point. But I definately thing she'll get dropped real soon.... Maybe this weekend...

    ZMan,
I have a set of mono's on the front of mine and the rear hasn't been lowered yet. My plan is to evenout the rocker when I do lower the backend.
This will give you a real life idea of of what lowering the front 3-4in looks like.

Longbeds vs. Shorties, the battle of size lives!!!
In the locker room I gotcha beat! HAHA

You have a headstart on me with the good looking paint.

The paint is only good from a distance. I shot the bed the other night just so it would match. I still have to rub it out. I tried to make sure I got it on straight the first time.
Personally I dig the shortbeds as I don't haul many fat chicks around.....

Most excellent job, I may have to do some scallops like that. Though the chop may not happen. I keep looking at the pic though and it's growing on me. Hmmm....
