Hi , as some of you know I have been working on this for while. Well today I finally finished the panel work "Yah bloody hoo" and am now ready for paint. The flames and skulls and shit are embossed into the panels so I will leave them buffed bare steel and mask them off. Then I will spray the color and cover the whole thing with Nylac clear sealer. I cant figure out how to use the comptuer to do some color options so can somebody help. I am looking for a purple lavender color in Flat/Matt. The brighter the better I would really appreciate the help. Many thanks Pete
After looking at the back end for a while and having a few bourbons I dont think the rear looks right while looking at it directly from behind.
Man i did a crappy job. but heres what i got. heres the photoshop PSD if someone else wants to have a go. http://www.bloodandwhisky.com/images/radrideshopping.psd
You have a lot of work in this, and some insane skills with the bead roller, AND I know you only want photo shop help.....but I would nix the iron cross in a heart beat....and send the gay-glo purple back to the land of OZ. Other than that, its cool. .
Thanks for the purple version I'm glad I asked because now I've seen it purple I dont think I like it. The Iron cross or Maltese cross is embossed on the door so it will stay, I have the same tottooed on my back which was there long before JJ used it on his chopper logo and they became common as crap. Thats why its on the door. Dont now what color to go for now.
I was going to leave it as it is but the new panels look a bit out of place with the old. A friend just offered to paint it with his paint ball gun.
Won't take long for it to blend --patina my good man patina raw steel has to be addressed but it took a lot of time ot get it to look like that - ultimately it's yours do what makes you smile good luck Mark
Please no purple or other bright color! I'd just get rid of the paint on the hood and let it go. Way cool truck though, nice work.
Flat white would be sweet and would enhance the shadows around the embossing....and its a color that hardley ever gets used. I am also starting to see darker browns show up a bit, both of which will go well with the wheel tire combo. I'll see what I can mix up for you....
Purple is is definately out. The white is better but it just doesnt spin my wheels. I drive around in a white company car all week. The wife and two teenage daughters (18 and 19) want it painted. If any of you guys live in a house with three woman you'll know that I'm out gunned.
I like the white. It looks way better than the purple if you ask me. Do what you want to do with the thing though. I've been hearing people say that they want to do this or that but wont because the people on the HAMB will tear them up. I say do whatever you want with the thing its your truck. I thought about doing the kind of raised metal work you did. I also thought about using flats and glosses together to make it stand out just a bit. Maybe that would work with your truck. Paint the body flat and gloss the raised parts. Any pics of that?
do it silver, with a flat or semi-flat clear, then airbrush rivets and shadows all over it like an old WW2 bomber, and have the things you embossed lightly shadowed in and airbrushed to look like they are riveted on. That way its painted, but still metalish looking at the same time. And paint the wheels black already!
