So, I'm in my local pub and a (regular) comes in. His name is Earl, I try to talk to him every time I see him because he always talks cars. He wants to show me his 911 outside and it's nice, but I want to talk about his past. He starts telling me about the cars he grew up with and who had the fast cars, he has a 421 Catalina that was fast, way fast.He raced on Telegrapf, about every weekend between 1953 and 1964. He then stats talking about how there were guys that could buy a brand new car in 1957, tune it and race and beat anybody. He talks about a guy in a green 57 chevy that was fast, his very good friend. He then tells me his name was Frank, and I asked where they lived, he says about two blocks from where I grew up! He says yeah, my friend had this carzy model T, his last name was Mack. I about shit my pants! He says yeah I owned the car for about 4 months when he sold it but bought it back and won autoramma with it. He has pics!. He also has pics of his thunderbolt next to it! Oh my god! This guy that I talked to everyday was best friends with Frank Mack! He also worked at the Alexander brothers shop for a year or so! Wow is all I can say.

I'm not worried about getting burnt, just seems every time one of us on the wrong coast say something, we get no responses. This guy does have the speed parts, I have seen them, I just didn't know they came from the mack T. I feel honored to know him.

First off, Detroit is not on the East Coast :D .. there are alot of oldtimers left in the city that are great to talk to, maybe your first time talking to one? I'm sure it was a great experience and thanks for sharing your story but no sense in getting your shorts in a knot...

Availiable for autographs, guest appearances, and pictures (but don't blame me if my ugly mug ruins your camera). Best part is, then 30 years from now, you can be sitting in a bar telling a guy "how you knew s.r.i." and can come on the board when some kids meets YOU and has to tell the world. :D

It's just near a couple of big lakes. I hear they used to make cars there. Too bad all of them are made in Korea now. Now all Detroit makes are white rappers.

Wow, are you 12? Because we all didn't start kissing your ass and crying of jealousy because you talked to someone who knew someone? I bet you are the type that name drops whenever you can.

Wow. That gave me something to read tonight. Sometimes I get excited about things too. Blows over pretty fast. Of course that's a great car. A "name", etc. I'm just jealous because I don't have a coast!

Seriously, the point is to live a life that IS a story, to be the kind of person that is so immersed in life that maybe somebody tells a story about you someday...or doesn't. It won't matter as long as you are living your own life all the way. Do what you came here to do....experience your time fully....it will end soon enough. Sound right?

  27. Funny on this forum,we actually have, famous rodders, and we don't have to get drunk to meet them.HAHAHA.
