Hey guys, whats up? A while back I asked wether or not I should buy a 57 Chevy 210 2 door post, or work towards my 30 Essex's. Well, I just couldn't leave the 57 sitting, waiting to be bought. I had to have it, so now I do( in a couple weeks anyway). It's pretty much complete, all the chrome that was taken off it is now sitting inside the car, along with pretty much all the repair panels to get rid of the rust...except the floor pans. Came complete with an Iowa title and all the documentation from bring it across the border. Apparently the car had been sitting in a machine shed in Iowa for the last 25 years. Somehow, the guy I bought it from heard about it and trailered it home to Canada. He had it for a year and decided to sell off some of his toys to build a shop. Once I get it home, I'm going to try to fire it up. Hasn't run in 25 years, but turns over freely, so I hope it doesn't take much.

Anyway, I'm not getting rid of the Essex's just yet, I still want to make a ratrod out of them, but I want something that I can enjoy soon, so hopefully the 57 will be on the road sooner than later.

    Later!!!

Hey thanx. Well first off, I'm from outside of Yorkton, you?:D Secondly, I plan on getting her running, fix up the rust that absolutly needs it and drive her. I like the flat black paint, so I think I'll leave it like that for now. I would like to update the brakes, but not sure wether I'll convert it to disc or just rebuild what I got. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yorkton eh? Last time I was near there visiting a friend he showed me his dad's all original '71 mach1 mustang with the drag pack. 429/4 spd/4:11 detroit locker. Parked in the early 80's with 50k on it just sitting under a tarp in a barn. Very cool. I'm going to school in S'toon, heading west to Drumheller in the spring. You going to have any of your cars at Cruise Weekend?

What's the deal on the other 2 cars sitting by the '57 ? What are they and are they for sale ? The one looks like a 39-40 Ford coupe.

Nice! I hope to own a 57' Chevy some day. It is one of my favorite cars, along with a 34' Ford as some of the best looking cars ever built.

Thanx again guys. I can't wait to get her on the road. I'm going to most likely have to say nada on the cruise weekend, I'm not even able to get the car until mid April( still too much snow)...I know, I know if it was up to me, I'd shovel her out of the shed with a spoon if I could, but the problem is it's sitting at the bottom of a steep hill at the moment, and without a D9 cat to pull her up, I'll have to wait patiently. About the other cars, I think these pics were taken in Iowa a year ago, and I have no idea about them...Sorry. I kinda figured I would be asked about their story.

Just a question to you other Chevy guys, what did you guys use for a front seat? The origional bench or something else? Mines toast...doesn't come with the car actually(really the only thing thats not there). If you used something newer, how did it fit? I plan on installing a 3 speed floor shifter, so I was thinking a set of buckets. I know where there is a set from a 67 T-Bird...red and black I think. Let me know. Thanx again.:D
