As you guys are tired of hearing I'm sure... I picked up a 51 chevy 4 door coupe.... for 200 bucks.... complete.... I also just picked up a complete running 91 chevy blazer 4x4 so I could steal the rear end out of it. I only paid $400 for the Blazer....and figured I could s**** the rest.... HERE is my question. I know alot of guys won't agree with what I'm about to ask but please remember I'm building the car to drive daily... so all opinions are good ones to me... I am really considering putting the 4.3 liter motor out of the blazer into the car. the motor only has 60,000 miles on it and runs perfect... the 4.3 should have plenty of miles left in it and get relatively good milage and still be able to move the old girl just fine for daily driving..... I was thinking of running a 700R4 ****** with the blazer rear end, motor, ect... anyone see any problems with this plan???? also,, could you use the stock front end???? or should I switch to a mustang II style.. any Pro's or Con's of switching to the mustang II besides power steering????
Anything wrong with the mill thats in it? I'd part out what left of the blazer and use the cash to fix the 51. You could easily get $400 for the engine and trans. That equals free rear end.
Oh, boy..... I will TRY not to type fast again......... sorry, bout makin the mistake about the coop...... I'll do some reasearch on the engine ****** combo on google... and thanks for the info on the Mustang II front end.
