In that last interview referenced in Ryan's article, even Robert E Peterson didn't get one. *****. Yeah, some Russian billionaire wrecked one. I thought he wrecked it in Europe though. Got burned too, IIRC.

The russian wrecked it in LA...that's on the tube also...turns out it was stolen in Europe somewhere. As for the idiot "comedian"...the back wheels are turning and the front wheels seem to be locked up. Anyway, I thought is was funny as **** this morning....what an idiot!:D

Actually, Enzo buyers were screened... In fact, original owners had to sign a contract that stated in the event of an accident Ferarri has first right of refusal...

Thanks for the info...I know there was a problem with buyer's reselling when the F-40's came out, driving prices to ridiculous amounts......so when the F-50's were released, buyer's had to sign a contract stating the car would not be sold within 3? years.....basically a lease, then after, they could 'buy' the car.....if this were the case with the Enzo, how did this BOZO get one????? Grey-market????? Was he approved to buy it????
The damage doesn't look TOO extensive, but still a shame to see......

Yeah, Enzo's had the same deal but it is hard to enforce in the states. I'm betting he is the second owner... That said, there is a Gizmondo exec in prison somewhere that was an initial owner, so who knows how good their screening is...

How does a car like that drive, Ryan?

Looks like he has the steeringwheel cranked all the way over, standing on the brakes, with the poor thing trying to keep everything going and not locking up any wheels ( ABS?)

Or are these cars understeerers anyway at such low speeds ( on a dusty, dirty parkinglot )?

What a waste of a beautifull car.

    Save the Enzo's!

    (anyone else read Jalopnik?)

Anyway, whoever designed that course should be shot in the head. Why would you put a big concrete barrier right in the way coming into a tight hairpin turn? That was a stupid move, there should be a lot of space between a barrier and a curve like that, especially with untrained drivers there. Cameras have zoom on them now, there's no need to be two feet away from the car to shoot it.

The car was not the comedians. It was the producer of the movie that the comedian was starring in. I saw a brand new Lambo going up the 5 frwy last Sunday heading toward Valencia. It was a bright yellow and the guy driving it was going in and out of traffic like it was nothing. People have to respect speed and realize that they are not "Race" car drivers just like these kids that I see all the time driving there Hondas or other rice burners and half the time the cars are messed up from crashing previously. Makes me laugh! KNUX!

If they don't let actors drive the cars in the movie, why would you let them drive at a track?

I was reading through to see if anyone else was going to point that out. Anybody who has done autocross/time-trials (parkinglot racing) would look at that course and ask "Did they WANT to kill someone?" That's just the most amateurish course design error I've ever seen in 14 years of autocross. A proper time-trial courses is designed so that you could lose control at any point and the car would run out of energy before hitting anything (other than cones). Like Squablow said, when you design a course you have to plan for inexperienced drivers. Jersey curbs are for the pit area, not to line the outside of a turn.

6 enzo's have been wrecked much worse then this. they all go back to the factory and get rebuilt using any good parts left.

factory factory has all the plugs and cores to remake any car from the late 50's and up including recasting engine blocks and heads.

    That's not what I've heard.

I've been told Enzo Ferrari went out of his way to S**** his old Racers, and parts.

Like the 156 Sharknose ( no original survivors left...)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_156

    Edit.

Years ago I heard that a whole bunch of cylinder heads were dumped by the Factory, instead of selling them to the owners of Vintage Ferrari's that were begging to please be allowed to buy some.

To make sure that the NOS castings wouldnt disappear from the s****yard, they were busted up with sledge hammers first....

  21. In the text, the owner says to have mixed feelings about his pride and joy getting destroyed. I'm just curious. If it's your pride and joy, why let some DEFO beat on it? It's like, yeah, her?, the cute one over there? Yeah, that's my wife. Would you like to hump on her for a while?

My girlfriend pointed something out to me something that we all have overlooked. Funny that he crashed the car right before the movie was suppose to come out and in the movie they show the cars crashing and maybe the owner had an insurance policy taken out to cover the cost of the car. It is HollyWood and weird things have been known to happen. Maybe this was to promote the movie? Hey, ya never know. KNUX!

I think it could be brought back to life with a shoebox front clip. Just a little cuttin', weldin' and hammerin' - just like new!!

There was an email going around an Enzo that got wrecked in California, maybe they could superglue them back together, you know, like them "kit cars".

    Here's the pics:

  27. My heart bleeds Purple Panther Piss for the schmuck owner, and his schlep driver...he's probably gonna make money on it after he gets paid by his insurance company...and if he doesn't, no biggie... he's gonna make enough money to buy 10 more after this movie comes out in theatre's and then goes to DVD rental and then DVD for sale...BOO ****in HOO!!
