I am looking at 3 possible hot rod projects right now. 2 are pretty much the same just diffrent styles. First is a 56 Willies Wagon mostly complete except interior. Second is a same year Willies Panel pretty much the same condition. And third is a 33 ford Sedan just ch***ies with main body and doors. All about the same price. I have always wanted a 30's Ford sedan but the Willies are really holding my attention to build street Willies out of and they are more complete. This is going to drive me nuts. Any one know where I can find a three sided coin to flip?

Investment wise, the '33 Ford will be better money spent than the Willys.

A 1956 Willys vs. a '33 sedan (even if it is a Fordor)?

That's an easy one my friend.

Not much of an issue for me - I'd take the '33.

Buy the Willys...I'll give you a 12-pack of yer favorite brew to tell me where the 33 is.....

  7. I'm a huge fan of 1950s/1960s Willys pickups and wagons.

BUT, given the choice, I'd pick the '33 Ford. No question. Unless I lived in snow country. Even then, I think I'd still pick the '33.

I see your offer and raise it to a case..................

BUY THE 33, if you really want a willys, then sell the 33 and buy both willys.

I'd go for the '33. The willy's values have fluctuated and really depend on the market when you sell them. The '33 will always hold its value.

Out of the three you mentioned. Only one has a remote chance of being a hotrod. I'll let you choose. The other two are for hunting.

Cool, but a '33 Ford is about as hot rod as you can get.

I've had both - (well, 34 Tudor, not 33, but close enough) - The Willys ain't a hot rod - cool old trucks & wagons, but not a hot rod. If you want a truck or "old SUV", get the Willys. If you want a hot rod, get the 33.

I love 'em both, but they is what they is and they ain't what they ain't. ;)

  16. buy all 3 dammit
quickly turn the jeeps for $$$
and then get more cash from selling the 33

i say always buy the oldest car your money allows when its beetween two...

investments is what they really are, fun is the bi product...

doesnt matter to me what i gotta spend to drive what i want and to have fun, but i like the prospect of always gettin more money if im forced to sell, and the 33 allows you that for sure

I am a believer that you should build the exact car you want to drive. If you have driven in a Hot Rod and you didn’t know the second the car took off that a Hot Rod is the style of car you wanted to own.

I think you should restore the Willy you like best.

See the thing is I have seen some hot rodded willys belive it or not. most where on frames from newer 2wd mini trucks with fat tires Chevy or Ford power plants. With the right work they are light and fast. If the 33 is still there then I am leaning to it the most though. I have always wanted one with the front post chopped about an inch or so more than the back. Sitting even and low with full fenders and no sides on the engine compartment but still have the hood on it. Sad thing is no matter what I get it will be sitting for about a year when I get deployed to Iraq some time soon.
