It was called "custom cars" on modern marvels on the history channel if you want to try and look it up. It was pretty cool. It covered everything from moonshiners to import tuners and lowriders. Had a lot of cool old videos and pictures of customs and drylakes. Socal belly tank, winfields "thing". Hirohata merc. Barris, early nascar. the end got lame but the first half was good.
That show started out good but then it stared getting into hondas and stuff. First half is cool. At the ensd they talk to Barris.
Great show until they got to the tuner cars and called them "customs"...Now we know what JimA looks like
I watched it at noon today. Even better than Winfield being on there was JimA for about 10 seconds. Towards the end they talk about Brian Brennans '32 model A , looked like a '28/29 to me.
Nice how they turn two weeks of prep and a two-hour interview into 10 seconds of air time. I DO NOT heart Street Rods!!!
Towards the beginning of the show, there's a late '40's - early '50's Chevy cab over with a chopped/carson top. It's painted flat black. No one around here happens to have a picture of it do you? Kind of inspired a possible project. Sure looks mean!
