Before I explain my tech let me appologize for not posting this last week during Tech Week. I didn't know it was Tech Week and my HAMB junkie husband was too involved getting the Willys back on the road to notice... I'm not complaining, when he's thrashing I have control of the TV remote.

This idea came to me during the big snow storm we just had. I was helping Traves get the snow blower running and he asked me to hand him a zip tie. When I asked where they were he pointed to a pile of various fasteners. Poking out of this pile all over were a bunch of zip ties. I took 1 zip tie and held it with the 'teeth' up, I then slid a bunch of the same size zip ties onto it. Because the 'teeth' were away from the other zip ties they will slide back off but there is enough friction to hold them in place.

    But wait it gets better...
If you take the 1st zip tie you slid on and loop it through the main zip tie's locking hole, it will form a loop so you can hang the bunch up and out of the way. And, like the rest of the bundle the teeth are facing away from the locking pin so you can undo the loop and all of the zip ties remain usable.

I know its not a fun cool new tool but, with your zip ties out of the way it will be easier to find your tools.

Mrs. Fiddy, it is a woman's perogative to arrive "fashionably late", even for Tech Week!

Good tip, thanks! I'm doing this one today.

That's a good idea! My luck I'd get them all locked on and have to throw it all out. I usually wrap one around the bundle, and make it tighter as I use the ties.

if you get zip ties in a plastic bag, don't cut the end of the bag to get them out,cut a hole in the middle of the bag, then they don't fall out!

Traves had to stop using them as condoms, after spending half the night in the ER trying to get it off him we decided it wasn't such a good idea.
