I sold this coupe to a friend about a year ago , last night he was driving home from work (night shift) and hit some standing water one the freeway and lost it. He was unhurt thanks in part to the roll cage and a hard head. Bummer to see it messed up , I had alot of good times in that car .
Too bad. At least it is probably easier to find a solid top to fix this car, than it is to find a solid bottom to fix most rust buckets.
She aint dead!,just crippled up a mite! On a semi-seriouse note, it looks pretty salvageable. Just lots of work. The fenders you can get to from behind to bang back into shape. A tape measure and port-o-power....LOTS of elbow grease and effort. Pm me if you want extra hands and labor, seein' as how I am local to ya.
That's a bummer for sure.Glad your freind is alright. The car looks savable. I've seen worse late model junk get saved.
it can be saved. fixed this car in a weekend http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38974&showall=1
sorry about the wreck and glad the guy is ok...speaks volumes about rollbars...dont it. But hey...out of adversity comes opportunity....that would make a great candidate for a chopped lowered custom at this stage of its evolution....I smell a metamorphus coming on big time.....Good luck to your friend.
In the words of Johnny Number 5... Dis***emble - Dead No dis***emble - Not Dead Number 5 is ALIVE...!!! JOE
I thought it was going to look worse from what you discribed on the phone. Hell look at the real "Road Rash", it came back to life. Chop, Cut, Rebuild!
did the car actually roll all the way over? Doesn't look too bad, well, it's bad but for a car like that it's not a writeoff. At the very least I envision a chopped Carson top, hmmmmmmm......................
Glad to hear your buddy is OK. Speaks volumes about roll bars. Are the windows plexiglas or lexan by chance?
itll buff out! GOD was shinin on him that night! glad he is okay!!! and like mike said, if that would have been a new car, there would be nuttin left!
I'm thinking about buying it back and building a custom , I't looks worse in person. The frame is bent in the front and the rear ,the only part that didn't get bent was the hood.
Damn that ****s. Keith told me about it yesterday after looking at the pics all I can say is Damn that ****s.
