So what did you you guys think? we're open to suggestions let us know what you might like us to do in future events.
Hey Spike. After The Weather Cleared And Allowed The Show To Go On It Was Great.I Think The Two Day Race Is A Better Idea Though.Just Used To That I Guess.Went Smooth .Just Wish We Had More Time To Play. Also You Need To Get Some Pics Of Your '49 Chevy On Here.
Don't have any suggestions, just a wish that more people would get off thir ***es and show up! Thanks for a great day! jerry
Ya, what jerry said. I had a blast, this racing stuff is fun! My thanks to you an Mark for making this all happen. Does any one have any pictures from the drags that they can post?
Does anyone have any photos they can post so that the chumps who didn't show up will know what they missed?
Sorry. I'ma a chump that didn't show, and it pains me to no end. Sunday was a big *** swap meet at Speedworld for VW parts and I had to unload some of my stash so I chose Sunday to go over Saturday, yeah.... Anyway, that track is the coolest, low key strip anywhere. Any time anything interesting is going on there we all need to go, otherwise, I'm afeeer'd o' what may happen. What's up with all the homes that are being built around there? What gives?! Yeah, where's the pics?!!!!
That was fun spike... but yeah, it would've been better with more CARS, not necessarily PEOPLE... I like cars better. I just wish I could've stayed longer... listening to that Z28 throw those insane revs ...and that survivor fuel altered car was awesome. ...I've got pics at home, but haven't uploaded them yet. I'll try to remember later. I got some pretty decent ones of you at about half-track, Mike... anyone get pics of Jerry getting his Academy Award?
I was able to post some pics of the race and "Arizona Hotrod Pioneer"award presentation, but didn't have time to explain what it was about. I talked to some of the members of the Traditional Rod Clubs around town and asked them who they might like to see recieve an award of appreciation for being an "Az. pioneer of hotrodding, and these are the guys they wanted. The guys holding the awards from the left are Jerry "Garcia" Watts - Don Marks - Ron Olmstead. The guy in the green cap is my bud Jim Cathey he's known these guys for years and wrote the the presentation info for the announcer. I'm going to keep posting pics as I get them, now that I figured it out. We all had a great timeand am looking forward to the next one.
Here's is some pics of the "CHIEF" Jim Wray and his blown big block Chevy 51 Plymouth wagon, son-of-a-buck gets a trophy at every race we go too. And his son Willie's big block 69 Camaro, he added a 150 shot of nitrous so he could ET the old man. These guys are responsible for my car making it to the race, unfortunately we didn't have time to do any tuning, next time out I'll run some times I can post.
Is there another Nostalgia April 14 or did I get the dates screwed up? More pictures/info. stories =More cars and people
Yeah, that weekend is the Standard 1320 gig... should be fun! ...and no, I still haven't gotten my pics off the camera yet. I like to pretend I'm using film and waiting for the developer... for nostalgia's sake!
Wow... so I'll bring this thread back from the dead with some pics I promised. Hey it took under a month, and who doesn't want to see some drag-action? Here's Richard winding out his RPU at half track. Rick's (?) huffed T hustling to another 100 mph 1/8 mile. (Sorry dude, I **** at names, but definitely remember your car killing it!) Mike's survivor '57 150, "Thumper", providing folks with some vivid flashbacks. Maybe I'll be ready to post some more next month... -Sperry
Thanks to everybody for the pics, looks like a good time.My only time in your area was at Firebird.Wish i could be there,it looks sooooo warm.
That's Rick Dupont aka "Hot Rod Hef" in the blown T Bucket. That car is scary fast. Thanks Sperry, for posting the pics.
