I know my friends Evel (flew), VF (drove w/wife) and Lee Pratt (drove) made the show. Also Bleed and his dad and JohnnyCola too. I don't know if Mr. James was already there w/ wifey (resident) or drove his Merc from the LBC? KNUX!
I was there with the HorrorS, met some Hambers and had a super great time. I am now already trying to work a deal on an old truck and I will leave the Harley at home next year......hope. Thanks for all the hospitality Austin.
All I can say is "WOW" what a great time we had, thanks to all, second year we have been there, met a bunch of great people, had a good time at the "luau" party in the parking lot of the hotel Saturday evening with the famous "Fishbowl Punch". Just can't say enough good about the entire weekend. Thanks to all that put it all together, will see you'll next year.
I made it ! what a great week end, wanted to meet ya broken spoke , to many cars , to many people ! met lots of hambers at the meet & greet , and walking around, just needed a few more day`s out there to see it all , and meet every one !
Had a blast eating lunch with you guys in Taylor. How can I complain about a lunch on Bob? Jeffs super cool as well, great dude even if he is from the frozen tundra!
Made it, with spousal unit in tow. My boy came up Sat. morning, spent the weekend. Spousal unit is excited for me to finish the '33, and get the '55 ready for next year.....????? Root, sorry I missed you and Flat-top. cya at MoKan
This was my first time and I loved every minute of it. Wish I was still there and it was still going on. Everyone I met was very cool. The weather could not have been better. Everything was under control but just barely...the way I like it. Best event I have ever been to bar none.
I made it with my blue 60 Bel-aire, was hoping to sell it there , but brought it home, oh well it's all good. Had a great time. I think this is the best show in the country and Austin, along with it's great hospitality .....ROCKS........ Big thanks to the Kontinentals !!!!!! Also in the group from Nebraska and north central Kansas were Hambers Malcome, Hiboy 32, No Surf, former hamber Not Otis and his friend Eon, and Malcom's Uncle John. I think I can speak for all of them when I say can't wait for next year. Gary
Left Thursday at 2:00 hoping to make it to Reggies BBQ and garage crawl Friday morning, but got stuck in the flooding Central Texas mess at about 5:00 Thursday. The heavy rain fried my coil and resister, trashed the distributor rotor, shut down I-35 and all roads surrounding Hillsboro, where we spent 9 hours trying to get me, my other half and the car off the side of the road and somewhere dry. After a great guy showed up and trailered us to his shop, we got some parts, fixed the car and set out the next morning. Few miles down, the muffler and tail pipe all fell off and wouldn't go back on, had a flat, water pump wouldn't stop leaking, got a hole in the top which made driving in the rain pretty aweful, had to duck inside a TV station because tornados were touching down all around but after 30 hours from Dallas to Austin (normally a 3-4 hour drive), we pulled into Austin at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and went straight to Congress to hang out with friends and drink a cold Lone Star!!! (PS - Did you know Lone Star is bottling house flys in a select few bottles?? True Story! I got one!) We weren't about to miss the Round Up or be down there again in a modern car. Loved the show this year!!! Hell and High Water tried to keep us from coming, but we weren't about to let it!!! THANKS KONTINENTALS!!! On the way home, BlueBrian hooked us up by pulling us back to Dallas, ensuring that we wouldn't take 30 hours to get back. We also found a little roadside hideaway full of Model As. What a weekend!!
We were there, great weekend. Saw a lot of old friends, made lots of new ones, put a lot of new faces with HAMB names, Wingnutz, Mike Zenor, the list goes on and on. Got to spend some time talking to Plowboy several times over the weekend, man looking at Aaron's photo album of the new build is an humbling experience. Awsome talent and imagination, great guy.
Dude....you and Kim made my day.....It was AWESOME....The Round up kicks ****. Just got home from the airport........need sleep..... The Owens are my New Parents
My son and I made it. It was good meeting some of the people and put a face to them. We actually started out driving Dakotas 59 buick and then had problems. Loaded it on a trailer and came on anyway. Outside of austin tryed it again. Again we had problems. Fuel was by-p***ing in the filter and going back to the tank. I pulled the buy-p*** hose, plugged it with a bullet I pulled out of my pistol, and come on. Dakota got to drive the 59 into the show. He was thilled. It's his first car and has helped with the build. Hats off to all the Kontinentals. great show, perfect place to have it,lots of good people. Thanks to all. TP
Was a BLAST made it up fri eve withou the 58 which blew a head gasket thurs and stayed till sat eve met alot of people. The cars were great and hope to do again next year Austin puts on a damn good show . A special thanks to the kontinentals for a great show..
I made it again, and as usual I had a great time! I really don't know why any traditional hotrodder within a 500 mile radius wouldn't make it. If you have never been to the Roundup, you must put it on your calendar for next year. I promise you'll be hooked.
My wife and I made it for the second year. We met DeuceRoger, peckerhead 28, BobK, HotrodLadyCruzr, one of the lurkers from Chopped and diced, and Bob Bleed's Dad. He is so proud of that beautiful roadster of his, and has every right to be. We also met, by chance, Skratch the pinstriper's mom after my wife took a picture of her cute little dog. Everyone was really friendly. I'm pretty sure it means we're getting old when we meet so many HAMBer's parents and not the actual HAMBers. Slonaker
Now THAT is ********.... Me and my son made the trip up from Houston for a few hours Saturday- everything looked cool as ever. My hall p*** only lasted for a few hours so after the show we had to hit up Rudy's and roll back to H-Town. All in all, the show was great but I miss the Lake front view. It also looked like it was easier to sneak in beer (note for next year) and having the vendors in one concentrated area was a plus. On Congress we got talking to a guy who made a pretty sweet 32 Sedan and my son who is 10 was completely impressed that such a young guy (he was maybe 24) built the car and let him sit in it. I think the car was painted "CARL's" on the side. Any know if this guy is a HAMBer? He really made my kids day. Thanks! Caddy
The Arizona crew was there, Elpolacko, Milesm, Hotrodron and me, jerry. Had a total blast. Worked on my truck until 11:30 on wed. after it was down for 16 months! Not without problems but did make it! Had one helluva time! jerry
