It's real hotrodding if you build something for a purpose out of a car like that. The guy just wanted to drive in the snow. Sweet. It was probably a long time ago.

  4. Think I say pics of that before . It still hurts my eyes man!!!

Stopping those great big wheels and tires with them itty bitty mechanical brakes must be fun!!!

  7. I think it was on Ebay not that long ago... in Northern Minnesota.
I sorta remember it being labeled as a mail carrier's vehicle.

I think its cool. It wouldn't be that tough to put it back to stock either.

I think it's cool also. On the one hand I understand the sentiment that it certainly is a car that could be far cooler, but if it's what he had and what he needed why not?

Using what you have for a need is the definition of traditional. Some built street cars, some built salt cars, this guy needed a go anywhere car.

I think everyone is missing the age of that thing. There were no camaros or monster trucks when that was built. That was the result of a genuine need. I say it's a hot rod at heart and was probably done at a time when a farmer had more parts than dollars. Ponder things a bit before you p*** judgment, you might be surprised where some objective thinking will take you.

  10. Amen.

Built ages ago to a need....nothing wrong with that.

I'm hoping it was a vehicle born out of necessity. If you think back, many of Henry's cars and trucks did double duty - often working farm implements, sawmills, and other various equipment that ANY FARMER could come up with. I'm often amazed at what they (the oooold timers) accomplished with what little they actually had, not to mention with the stress on the original components of the frames and suspension?
Wow! However, if this is the creation of some idiot looking for a 'toy', then he does need to be beaten!

Pretty cool "vintage"creation if you ask me. Looks like someones barn find that's going to get made into a hot rod by the trailer it's on.

A while back there was some guy selling a rock crawler made out of a model T on ebay. While it was well done, it was a pretty goofy creation.

That poor flathead would have had a hell of a time powering those tires through deep snow.....unless he geared it way down.

  14. I like it.
    Really creative.
    What an amazing barn find.
    A true survivor.

Bingo, I was working there when a potential customer brought that in to see about building a hot rod out of it. The car was built into what you see there back in the forties to use in a rural northern comunnity. somwhere around the late forties it was parked and not used again. other that the quarters being beatten in the car was very well preserved.

I have seen a few like that. Most where used to deliver mail and goods ect. in the harsh winter environments. I think it's cool for what it is.

Hey everyone,it's not as far gone as all those early stock cars ended up.:D Funny, many people on the HAMB have commented favorably to old race photos, but not this. It's interesting, because of it's age, probably not any older than if you used a camaro now.

A guy brought one just like that,on a trailer,to a cruise night here in La Habra last year. Don't know if it's the same one. Looked just as stupid.

I think that thing is pretty sweet. It would have been cooler if is was four-wheel drive. There was a crude four-wheel drive system back then wasn't there?

Here's a Model A I saw awile back, the body was in great shape, up high enough so no rust on the bottom,
I was told it was for the mail delivery too.

Infact I could have bought it and probably should have, but felt maybe it should be left like it is, historical value??

So what happened to it? Is it still around? What was the going price?
I really like this car and the 34 not exactly traditional but pretty cool in their own right.

why would you want to put a bullet in someone for modifying his own car?

the old guy probably p***ed on a long time ago anyway.
