    The bike is looking great.
I expected you to ride it down the hill in front of the
    club on Saturday night.

Now maybe you'll stop hording all the Continental kit
covers for your rear fender (You too Outlaw).

That is a beautiful bike. I thought you were going to put a springer front-end on. I like that you didn't.

There's no shame in no chain.

BTW, Do you want to sell the springer to a good club buddy? [IMG]

Oh, thanks for the headlights they worked out perfectly.

  5. The before and after pics are amazing!

I really like what you've done with it... just too cool.

I have a mess of questions, so I'll prolly send you a PM... but really quick, is the rear fender a '36 spare tire cover? Or a Triumph/Bates fender? Also, what front forks are those? Did you have to machine them to fit the covers over them?

I also have to say that the pics on your site with your narration is kick-butt too... that side cover is a pretty rare piece... I was at a Brit' bike swap on Saturday and a dude had one of those like yours... along with the cam cover and trans cover! I didn't even ask how much... didn't want to get depressed. [IMG]

There is a guy up here - outside of Portland, that is finning stuff. I have yet to see his work in person, only on his website. If you are interested, I'll see if I can find the link...

There is someone out there re-popping the finned primary covers...I see them come up on ebay from time to time. They aren't cheap though. And I've never seen a cast finned timing or transmission cover for a Unit other than in an old magazine.

I think dusty knuckles is talking about Casey Tallon.

The rear fender is a '36 spare tire cover. If you get a good one, there's enough to make two fenders there. Mine was a real turd and I had to work it over and metalfinish it to get it in shape (it was free, though). I don't have a good pic, but where it attaches to the frame at the bottom, I hammered the rib out of it to flatten it, bent it at a 90 on the vice with a body hammer, and cut a hole in it with a hole saw so it wouldn't catch oil or water (looks cool too). It attaches to a simple bracket welded to the frame with two bolts.

The forks are I believe '64-68 Triumph T-120 models...I haven't ran the part numbers to be sure which. '63-70 are really similar, with the top tree being the only real difference (risers and fork lock). The chrome covers (shrouds) are NOS and made by MCM...I had to take a cut-off wheel and cut the upper lip off of the fork seal holders to get them to slip over. It's about a 1/4" that has to be cut off. Other than that the only thing you have to do is disassemble the forks from the trees to put them on.

I'll try to answer any other questions you might have, Sam.

    Thanks for the kind words.

This guy is adding fins to old bits, you could fin up about anything. He is just welding on fins, grinding welds and polishing.

That is one of the best looking Trumps I have seen. That tank keeps things very slim and sexy. The blackwall rear does it, too. I am of the mind that whitewalls are for baggers and cars.

    Nice bike...

Nice work man! Our brains are on the same frequency, it's weird I tell ya.

It'll be cool, after you sort out the bugs, to go out some evening and just tinker with it, clean it, polish it, then you can start on the bike!

Sorry. Very nice sickle. Attaboys to you.

bass, nice work- what a cool lookin' bike. I love the tank and the paint too.

4 aces cycle has finned primary covers listed on their site, maybe worth a try.

i haven't heard one good thing about tallon, not really crazy about the way the finned stuff on his site looks either

I'm a little behind in checking out this post, but I gotta tell ya that thing is sweet... like KRUPANUT, I caught myself looking at it several times last weekend. You nailed it fer sure. Good work on the photo-essay, too - real cool.

  16. Nice bike!
But call me girly man (don`t want to write pussy),
I love Triumph, but wouldn`t ride one without front
brakes or a handle bar mounted kill switch.
    Good Luck...JR

  17. And mirrors,(I know if you go faster then everyone else,
    you don`t need mirrors)
I know I`m going too far,but I just put turn signals on mine! [IMG]

I've got turn signals...they are attached to my shoulders and I sometimes use them to wave. [IMG] Of course, 90 percent of the drivers on the road these days don't know what hand signals are, so I see where you're coming from.

The lack of mirrors doesn't concern me... the ones that were on it before were useless, and I ended up turning my head instead anyway.

As far as the front brake is concerned, I may add a mini-disc front wheel later on...I've got a cool NOS Hurst master cylinder that I can use. We'll see how many near death escapes it takes before I add one. [IMG] It probably seems crazy to most people that I took off the front and rear disc brakes, but it's a sacrifice that had to be made to get the look.

Thanks for the positive comments fellas, I ate slept and breathed this bike for those two months. And I really feel like I put my heart and soul into this thing....believe me, any little detail you see (or don't see) on the bike is there (or not there) for a reason. Constructive criticism is always welcome, though....I appreciate it.

hahaha...mmmmm, sweater meat. [IMG] I'm right there with ya on that, JR.

I really like the black trim...relaly makes it look classy!!! George Paul, a guy that does VooDoo choppers seats in Detroil did my seat...if you read the horse..he did Hammers Streetrod chopper seat as well as a seat for the Jinx bike soon to be featured in easyrider. Turned out great..i love my seat...but man if i had though of putting black trim!!!

That pan in thepic above is just about done....motor should be here in a week or so then I just need to paint and reassemble...

im looking for a trump project for the summer....but cant find a motor I like. [IMG]

that trump is really kickass man. ever think of putting a moon oil tank or an octagon oil tank on her? im curious how that would look.

Yeah, a Moon oil tank is in my future plans. Gonna ride it like it is for this year's riding season, though.

The horseshoe oil tank was really the only thing I wasn't sure about....now after I've got the bike pretty much finished I think the Moon tank would be perfect for it, with a close second being an oil tank like the one Scott Craig used on the Trumpster. (Anybody know what it is?)

I guess you can't win 'em all... [IMG]

It took me two doubletakes to realize the coat of arms on
the neck was painted, nice detail.

I'm not sure, but the trumpster oil tank looks like an upside down fire extinguisher, but I've never seen the bike up close...just pics.
