You know, the old Superior style wheels? Moon is re-popping them, but not in Gold. I've been looking for one, and I'm beginning to think they never existed?
ive seen one on a friends wall, even held it up as a mockup in my coupe, buit its not for sale... they are out there,.... it just takes time.. i gave up and got a green and a blue one... guess i will just pick the one i like the most
Someone did, as I had on in my old coupe. I still have it as well as a lime-gold one. Sorry not for sale. Cause I know you were going to ask that next Keith.
here's a greenish/gold flake wheel.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VINT...729QQitemZ110109862825QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
I have a very nice Grant gold flake wheel (not for sale) that came from a Jeep guy. When I found it, it was completely wrapped in friction tape, even the spokes. They are out there, and I've seen several for sale at prices around $75
My brother-in-law (Sean72 here on the HAMB) bought a gold one from Mooneyes a few years back for his gold Buick Wagon. If I remember right, he bought the last one they had in stock right off the display wall. I think they told him, at the time, that there were no plans to make anymore in gold.
thanks for all the replies. at least now I know I'm not looking for something that never was. I'll keep my eyes peeled. and Keith, how about a "semi-permanant loan" type of situation? ha ha.
I got one hanging on the garage wall... Putting it into Model A though. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b193/Mikaka2/Garage/PICT0017.jpg --mika
Sam at Rocco & Cheaters had half a dozen NOS gold flake wheels hanging up last time I was there, but he won't part with any of them. Several were gold and a couple were more of a copper color.
I have one...its defiantly seen better days. The spokes are pitted up pretty badly. I was going to put it on my gold metal flake dune buggy, but its just a little to rough looking for that project. It hangs on the wall for now.
nice, so it seems everyone has one but me, and no one wants to sell right? what if i offered my 32 ford sedan on trade?
I've got one! I'll trade for a 32 for sure. It's definitely got some "patina", I'll measure it and take a pic if you are interested. It looks like a Superior, but I don't ever rememeber seeing a logo on it at all.
I actually bought out all of chico's gold flake and some greens and the square wheels from moon in the ninetys, I have one left in storage its a 14" kinda small. that dirtbag Eric at Riley was hoarding a bunch, p.m. the *****
They show up on egay but to find them you put (rat rod) in the search almost all the metalflake wheels pop up in that catagory.
