Awsome find. I think I am falling in love with these year model coupes.

  2. sniff, sniff. I just love stories like this.

  3. I am going back over to the old man's next week to get some misc parts for ir, and will ask for pics/more information then. I would like to get the car running/driving as is, but I have been planning on a "frame off" for so long, and have most of the parts, that is the direction I may go. Who knows, maybe the ol 283 will fire to life and that may direct me to a new view of thinking ;)
Bob, I cannot wait for you to get the truck. It seems like forever ago it left, I'm amost as excited as you are!
Just so everyne knows, I paid 4,000.00 for it. (I always want to know what people pay, too) Thats what he asked, thats what I paid.

Another one scarfed up, thats great. I love the persistance too, it paid off in spades, thats for sure. Keep us posted on the progress, it sounds like you'll be able to get going on it pretty quick with the stock pile of parts you have.

I hope you get the 283 running so I can see that on the road asap. That's a heck of a find, I can't wait to see it.

This car wasn't on Lacrosse St. over by Shadle was it??? It looks similiar to one I have been trying to get for a while. Still had '63 plates on it. Older guy has not let me get at it for years....Ken

By the way, Is this the same "Chris" who's last name starts with an --S-- and ends with an --N--??? Drove a Ford truck to Hot-Rod-Arama last year???? Hangs out with "Flathead"??

  13. Yep, thats me. Sold that truck to a Hamber over in England

Great score and great price! If you can swing it, get this one running as is and do the frame off on the other one. Another old coupe rescued, good luck with it.

It is nice when you get something you've lusted over for a while. Aren't you glad you were persistent enough to keep checking on it? Can you imagine driving by there one afternoon and seeing some other lucky person towing it off - just because you hadn't kept your hat in the ring?

Like what happened to me!!! This IS the same '39 I have asked the guy about in the past. My (old) house was walking distance to his. But chris was apparently more "aggresive" tham me. Oh well, at least a fellow =hot rodder= NOT street rodder got it!!! Chris'll do it up just fine!!! I'll take that SBC off your hands if youy want,--- for my '49 Fleetline!!!!! Ken

Did it come with the microwave in the drivers seat, or the fertilizer in the trunk?

  28. Yeah, actually that fertilizer ate quite the hole in the trunk floor. That was the only "surprise" I found...but nothing to major.

Ken- I do not think I know you (may if I saw ya) but your welcome to come by anytime. I have know that "group" of people for many, many years :)

Also, that is the coolest steering wheel I have ever seen.
