I need a title BAD guys, otherwise all of this work might be done in vain...I'm going to go ahead and keep working but hopefully someone can come through for me and find me a title soon...anything late 20's or early 30's will do, coupe, sedan, 4 door, 2 door, Ford Chevy Dodge Plymouth...I don't care what it is as long as I can get it cheap and get it soon...as of today my buddy Sam and I will be cleaning more scrap steel out of the shop, building more shelves and organizing some things better and hopefully moving the '40 Plymouth over a foot or two to make some room for the '29 Dodge body to make it into the shop by Friday...THEN the REAL fun begins...and we'll be taking pictures the whole way, hopefully I'll be able to find a way to post them...

  4. I have a '36 front axle assembly (unsplit, '40 spring), if you are still looking.

  6. 5 months.....you are crazy.....but then what is new?....a lot of us are nuts for some of the goals/deadlines that we set for ourselves. If you put your mind to it, it very well can be done. I set forth on a similar project a few years ago...3 month build to get ready for the roundup, and got it done at the very last moment. ahhh, self imposed deadlines.....crazy, but often worth it!
Here's a shot of the car now and a link to the original build a couple of years ago. Keep up the faith, stay the course:cool: .

I know you have the info linked here- but for anyone that didn't look at it I believe the date is September 2- not the ninth.

Alright boys, here's the list of parts that I'm still looking for...I'm only posting this because people have asked me to and want to know what I need to get this thing moving along...

Short steering column, simple and stripped down (no plastics, etc.)
Mopar aluminum steering box, the finned style ones
    Ford wishbone mounting cup
60's or 70's Pontiac Catalina/Bonneville/etc driveshaft (the longer the better)
BOP TH350 Torque Converter and wiring harness (the pigtail for the backup lights)
BOP TH350 transmission yoke (preferably with a long driveshaft attached, hint hint)
3spd. auto shifter, floor mount or direct mount...just something that works
Pontiac 350-455 distributor, or aftermarket HEI cap/coil/rotor
    650-750cfm 4 bbl carb, working/easily rebuildable condition
30's grille shell, or tractor grille shell (I'll get measurements to fit the Mustang radiator)

that should be a good starting point, some of that stuff I'll be looking for at junkyards in the next week or two, but if someone has it and wants to sell/trade/donate I'd be more than happy to work something out...thanks for all the encouragement guys, let's make this happen...

    Johnny-

I've got a very beat up old 3 spd auto shifter assy. Has a Hurst or B&M T-handle on it. I'll bring it tomorrow if I think of it...

This thing may or may not be done on schedule, it all depends on this next few days and how the house thing works out...that and I'm applying for jobs again, so I won't be sitting at home all day every day...it still might be possible even if I get a new job, we'll see how it all plays out...I just hope things work out for the best, that's all I can say...

Here's a little update, it looks like the house thing will work out so it's back out to the shop for me...I've lost 19 days from my already tight schedule due to me withdrawing from everything because of the house situation, so I'd better work my ass off to make up some time...update pics coming next week...

sneak peek of my new door sill/rocker body structure pieces I fabbed up this weekend... [IMG] ...I got the passenger side finish welded and tacked onto the body, got the body back right side up and braced the cab...next is getting the back of the cab re-attached and the doors working...photos tomorrow

Here's the front half of the body back on its own 2 feet...

Hopefully I can have some doors on this thing by the end of next week...

New update pics as of last night...looks like today I'll be doing some bracing to keep things from wiggling around, fixing some sheetmetal cracks in the dash, working on stripping down the '36 Ford axle some more and possibly starting to hang the rear body section/doors and get everything to fit...just for a reminder, this body will be using the rear suicide doors as a 2 door sedan, so it'll be quite a bit shorter than a typical 2 door sedan...

here's a mini-update...got one side of the body sheetmetal back on the cowl, need to fab the inner wheelwell area underneath the curved section of the door and the rocker panels (the rocker panels will be made from the original B-pillar which was removed to move the C-pillar up to use the rear doors as the "front" doors)

The house thing still hasn't worked out yet, I'm still in deep shit and trying to get things figured out, but my regular bills and utilities are sucking all of my "save the house" money up...and I haven't made much for progress, just working on the wheelwell arches and rocker panel and fixing the door hinges...
