Not sure if anyone's done this before. It's mainly for those who are proficient at Adobe Illustrator, (given the number of graphic designers and illustrators here, plenty should be able to use these) but I am including files as .pdfs, too.

There are many Photochop requests on the HAMB here. This may make things a little easier, at least if you're looking to mock up some of the more popularly hot rodded cars. I have made .ai files of the following bodies: 1927 Ford roadster, 1929 Ford roadster, 1929 Ford couple. I also made .ai files of Ford T, A, and '32 frames, as well as some wheels (including Halibrands).

I used a variety of references for the bodies. Unfortunately I have two different sources for the '29 roadster so I went with one. The overall length dimension should be correct, if some of the details are a little off.

Being Illustrator files you can chop them, color them, make your own hoods and play with the amount of louvers, mess with the rake, experiment with tire sizes, etc. We used it to figure out ahead of time if we were going to have to severely doctor our Deuce frame to get it to sit where we wanted (see below.)

The scale should be 1" to 1'.

For those who don't have Illustrator, you can download the .pdfs, print them out, and cut out the parts or trace them to rough out your mockups. You could even get one of those overhead projectors and, once you've mocked the car up, project it on the wall of your garage, full size, and pencil it on there for constant reference and inspiration.

I didn't do a '32 body yet but may get to it soon. Others should feel more than free to work up other cars (three and five windows, Shoeboxes, etc.) that are often the subject of mock ups.

Frames are to proper scale...just had to downsize the .jpg a bit for display purposes.

I can do a 29 Tudor next. The references I have been using are old line drawings and diagrams from a variety of sources (Brookville, Floyd Clymer books, websites, etc.) If you have line accurate line drawings of a certain car or frame let me know. I may at some point try to tackle something like a Kelsey Hayes wheel and will continue to search for other line drawings to replicate. I will also post a few more examples of mockups.
