I couldn't help myself! I had to get her off the jack stands and slide one under for a look. I'm still waiting on my axles. I started making templates for my tubs so I used that as a reason to get her down and check clearances"Right". The front wheels haven't showed up yet but I ordered ET G***ers cast centers. I also had some stuff powder coated with a new chrome powder I found on the net at Rosey's Powder Coating. I figured for $18.50 a pound it was worth the try. Nothing beats real chrome but for the price this aint half bad if used in the right places. I know my style of build is kinda OT but I love this site and trust me when she'd done she'll have a "HAMB vibe".
Cool.....doin good, looking forward to the finished product.... BUT, I really like the chrome steelies up front.
Really? Keep the steelies? I think the et g***ers will really set the car off. I fell in love with them right away.
That looks good, though i woulda went with the ET Dragmasters for the front. But those wide cragars look great without the cap.
Thanks for the kind words guys. Jay, I'm still not there yet. I've done maybe 50 or so panels but only two came out decent. (Lucky I work at a steel shop) I am getting better though and gonna get some aluminum here in a week or so. Most of my interior will be metal or carbon fibre. I don't think I'l be covering anything with cloth. I plan on anodizing all the interior aluminum black.
Carbon and black look fantastic together!! You do know you can step Carbon,, hit it with a heat gun , then have someone hold the gun just in front of the wheels as you roll it. Works on the thin sheets. Oops the goes another trade secret!!
I wouldn't even try it. I spent all day getting one carbon tub in the car. I had so much dust flying around. I exploded two cut off wheels. (I didn't get hit thank God) I went through three drill bits and called it a day. As far as my other panels go you may get to work one day to find cardboard templates and drawings waiting for you. LOL
Be glad to help! Wouldn't be the first time its happened though. If its any consolation, I hate carbon tubs, they look real good but getting the carbon down your shirt and into your pants is a pain in the ***. Get it? Pain in the ***!!! Haha, I kill me!!!!
Hey! That chrome powder looks like it would work well on some old Rader wheels I have. Do you have any advise regarding surface prep? (nice Stude. Reminds me of the old Revell model kit)
Bob, Killer car!!!! I've been in the 32 arena for years, but I want a 53/4 Studebaker coupe, and chop it like yours....make a driver out of it....really like the update...keep em coming!!! Skot
