I drew up an inliner shirt design-

The Jimmy six illustration with a Wayne 12 port head and five carbs...

I cant believe how many people think that I left out one carb...
and how many people think the exhaust is on the wrong side of the block...

They laugh at me like I'm a dumb ass... haha...

I guess... maybe I shouldve just kept it simple as not to confuse people.

The GMC 6 was one of the coolest 6's ever made... and had a ton of power... I was going to draw this motor injected but you really wouldnt see the injectors... so I did it with five carbs... as they could only fit five carbs along side a block, not six. I guess I have yet to see a six carb intake, but I'm sure they made them...

If I ever build a Hamb gas rail I would love to run a Jimmy-6, or a Jobmaster 261... but a 302 would be the BOMB. They have tons of power,

IACONO ran 130mph passes in TEN SECONDS in 1959 with one of these motors... he bored his out to 320 CID, ran a McGurk alloy flywheel, offy aluminum clutch, 37 lasalle trans and a Cyclone quick change...

    HERE YOU GO...

    OLD ENGINES RULE ALL-

    a wayne 12 port head:

Nice...........haven't seen one in quite a while..........Ran a Jimmy with a Wayne head and a pair of Fish carbs..........way back in the early 60s...had it in a 51 business coupe.
Like a fool..........I traded it for a 51 Ford Victoria...flathead, 2 deuces and the dreaded Fordomatic..........what a dog..........but the injected Olds powered 40 sedan was just around the corner of my life...another that I shoulda kept...........oh man...don't get me started on the list of "keepers" that went down the road.

    Life is good.

-when I drew my stovebolt poster I left it a stock head with five carbs-

I thought just a GMC six on its own should be decked out-

heres the stock head config- with the exhaust out the "NORMAL" side haha...

    with 'five' carbs-

    :) :) :)

    Tex, Thats rad-

My buddy had a 55 chev that I borrowed and BLEW up the 235 six.

We ended up swapping it with a Canadian Pontiac 261 JOBMASTER Six

Offy Two carb, fenton split exhaust

That thing RIPPED... blew the Flatty and early desoto hemi right out of the water. Totally changed my view of GM sixes...

  7. Man,you even spelled it out for them,at the bottom of the design. That's unreal and they call themseives "traditional rodders".My dad tells me that gmc 6's were more plentiful in the fifties than the flathead ford.Oh and yes he was a hot rodder,Piston Pushers c.c.,Brantford Ont,since 1955.He tells me nothing had bottom end torque like a wayne equiped 302 jimmy.

I 've seen one Wayne twelve port on ebay and it was sold and off the board in an hour. Happy Easter!

    Jesus drives a chevy
    Chopped, fleetline 52.
    Tail dragging heavy
    Tuned12 port 302

    Sitting bored,,forever
    Occasional car pass by.
    Waiting lost cold desert
    Someone,I need a ride.

    Hot as hell in daylight
    Shivering,lonley,night blues.
    Picked me up,late,thumbing
    A highway east of Berdoo.

    Lights in the distance,
    Dim, still dark air.
    Tilt my head to listen,
    A rumble drawing near.

    Jesus drive a chevy,
    Chopped fleetline 52
    Tail dragging heavy,
    Tuned 12 port 302

    Open door,warm smiling
    He offered me a ride
    Motor lumpy ideling,
    Bend down to climb inside.

    Shut the door,speeding
    Off into earlyight.
    Darkness now is fadding
    Morning fills the sky.

    Welcome silence unbroken,
No words as time passed by.
    Bright morning star beakon
To lead me to the light.

    Jeaus drives a chevy,
    Chopped fleetline 52.
    Tail dragging heavy,
    Tuned 12 port 302.

    If stranded on the highway.
    Lost waiting in despair,
    Heart hanging heavy,
    Your soul laying bare.

    Look for headlights shinning,
    Down a dark road where,
The sound of a 12 port running
    Brings music to your ear.

    Heaven is a chevy
    Chopped fleetline 52.
    Tail dragging heavy,
    Tuned 12 port 302

There was a gentleman named 12 port Charley that lived north of Des Moines Iowa.Information some might have should be shared. He was a remarkable machinist from what I've heard. If you could get Way Back Jack from the Beatniks to talk about him he's got the facts, and Charleys motor.Jesse James is or was showing the 12 port that Jack bought from Charley in his showroom. It would be cool if Mr. James could post some photos of that motor if he has them. It's one of those personal engines built by a builder for himself.Jack spent many hours talking to me about it but I've still not seen it.

Charlie Baker from Nevada, Iowa sold me aon of the repop Hourning/Fisher heads as did he sell one to Don Kinkaid. Don ran his in the GMC Fever coup and never could get it to stop leaking. I spent 100s of hours on mine and never could get it to stop leaking. Ran it in Bob Daltons streamliner and it launched a spark plug at me. Bought Don's engine and went 202 and blew the head gasket on the first run. Sold the whole mess. Got a Howard head.

The fisher head came out of Indy Car Builder Grant Kings shop. I have a picture of one used on a sprint car in the late 50's. My head is usuable although it will take some work , it shows lots of blow up scars etc.:)
