i know fatman offers them. how about a cheaper alterative? anybody know of one? fatman is pretty proud of his control arms. what about a dirt track racing application like the ones sold at speedway motors for less? anybody used these or any others? im working with a clip from an 80 camaro but many others have had the same question.
I'll be real interested in hearing some options. A friend recently picked up a '39 Ford that has a camaro clip in it and it's way too wide. He's looking for some reasonable $$ ideas before he changes out the whole front end.
we allways take 3" out of the center . it helps gits ***e with the headers . a late 80 ss are much shorter cutless i think .
You can get tubular stock car arms very reasonably, and modify those. (check speedways other catalog) If you run into alignment issues afterward there's problem solver offest upper bushings & shafts to adjust camber, sold at the same stock car shops. Good luck
One of the shops I work with builds them, not sure on price but I am sure of the quality. www.burkhartch***is.com Chuck and the boys in the shop are all stand up guys and make some nice pieces.
maybe OT but why is narrowing up the crossmember not an option? would seem to be alot less work, i have seen it done a few times in car mags over the years and looked fine, would cost a little time and some welding wire.
in this application and i think alot of other guys issues is that the front clip is already installed in the project or cruizer. any info would ba a great help to many.
i've got a friend that had a 67-69 camaro clip put in that i'm thinking i can narrow the arms myself IF the 79-87 g-body spindles don't get enough clearence.... it's in a 41 packard....
