http://videos.streetfire.net/video/59426411-b89d-44d1-bec1-98fe017a7f41.htm Oh my Gosh!!!!!Need this guy for the HAMB drags.
Wow, just think how much faster he would be with wheely bars. I wonder if that was his first time out with it or not? What a ride!....Mike
I wonder if he's got a trans brake, and what kind of rear dif ***embly. Nice car! I'd like to see it up close to check out the drive train.
And he stayed on the throttle once it came back down!!! If that had been me, there would have to have been a clean up out on the track just to get rid of the brown stuff that I would have left behind!!!
holy ****? Stock suspension my right **** cheek. He's lucky he had that bumber on. Well at least it isn't the stock rear end.
I've watched that car race at the Antique nat's for years and was very impressed with it before I saw this video but that has to be one of the best wheelies I have ever seen!
That was entertaining. As to the "stock suspension" thing....... The transverse leafs work well for hooking.I know this for a fact. The wishbone pivot is in an advantageous location for weight transfer,I know this for a fact. But I doubt the stock wishbone would take much of that kind of punishment(if any) without becoming pretzels.LOL If it's a stock wishbone it's prolly severely trussed or beefed up in some manner. I'd sure like to get a look at the cage in that car.I have never figured out how to do more than a simple roll bar in mine without having to relocate the door handles and having to run down tubes from the main hoop outside the body.
I ve seen that 32 a few times on thursday night drags ther. The car hauls *** but never a hugh wheelie like that. The car is really nice up close and it does have just a superbell front axle nothing trick. The car is just set up perfect and the guy that owns it seem like a real cool guy.
stock suspension? i would love see what the front end looks like after a landing like that. axle smaxle.
The driver obviously knows that car intimately. If he had gotten out of it at the top of that wheelie the result wouldn't have been pretty. Can you say "EVERYTHING FROM THE FIREWALL FORWARD"? Frank
When I saw the stills,I thought maybe it was a wheel-stander. Definatly got some balls to stay in the throttle.
Once it comes up like that, you HAVE to stay in the throtle. If you let it just drop, or worse slam on the brakes....the car is screwed. I've seen it happen. Best thing to do is stay in it and hope it goes straight.
What Flipper said is fairly true.LOL There are only 3 real options when you lose the horizon like that, (1) Drop it like a dirty shirt(never a good idea, unless, the guardrail is comin' attcha and you're outta options). (2)Keep your right foot full in it and stand on the brake at the same time(not a natural reaction, and as such very hard to do). (3)Keep your right foot in it (my personal favorite)and plug in the next gear. This option makes 'em land like a feather.
Wow, that was cool. I just watched the wheelstander contest on TV yesterday, he would have been in the running. I don't think I would do that with my steel car. I guess some folks have enough money to replace it, I don't want to have to. On the flip side of that, it could get totalled sitting in the garage I guess. Cool video none the less
okay, i'll probably watch this one a few thousand times...and a real steel 3W to boot, thanks for posting, awesome.
