I been looking at this car for almost 2 years. It was a nice running original 52 Canadian built Pontiac. It was torn down to be hotroded and then buddy found a deal on a 35 Ford coupe and the old Pontiac was shevled. Being Canadian it was built on a chevy frame. The body is in amazing shape for a 55 year old car. It came from western Canada. I am building a rotisere and plan to lift the body off so the bottom can be blasted and painted. I have sbc I plan to put in. I am looking for info on upgrades that can be done to the 52 front end. I think that there are some parts from 53/54 fronts end that will fit. Does anybody have a drawing for v8 motor mounts that will fit a stock front end? Down the road I would like to chop the roof. Right now I am trying to figure out where to start!!
ch***is engineering sells bolt in V8 motor mounts, and a under the floor master cylinder mount that uses the stock brake pedal. uses a 68 - 73 mustang master cylinder. they have new rear springs too along with posies and probably someone else too everybody and thier brother sells disc brakes for 49-53 spindles. fatmanfabrications sells dropped uprights that give about 2" drop with stock suspension. lots of good stuff out there for those chevy frames.
great looking car , did you find some valve cover adaptors yet i am also looking for the adaptors and another pontaic valve cover. If i remember correctly on the 53 pontaic my bro had there is a difference in kingpin size between the pontaic & the chev . took a good parts man to locate the correct imfo.
It is going to be hard to find people that know or remember the little differances that the CDN Pontaics did compared to Chevys. I am still looking for adaptors, buddy on the list says he might be able to make them just not sure on the price yet. later
