You should preface the post with "stick around if you don't mind some cream in your jeans.."

That is a mighty fine project. I'm so jealous.

Tank looks great! If it's even half as close to your coupe & roadster, it will be one of the nicest on the salt. Do you think you'll make it for Speedweek or World Finals?

A friend and I are trying to get a 30 coupe ready for next year...we're trying to get approval on the chop and window.

On a side note...I need to get a Chevy axle out to you to be dropped. Can you PM me your # so I can get the shipping details.

    Thanks, Chris

WOW ! great work. your attention to detail is inspiring to me (and others, i'm sure) to get busy and finish tne current build.. that way i can work on my own project..
i am interested to see how you finish the front cage and tie all of the tubes together, as well as the front axle/steering stuff.
the rear axle mount will be more substantial than the current 2x4 blocks? LOL !
ok, time for the HAMB chant...more pics ,please..

We are shooting for speedweek in Aug. Were on a tight schedule, but the good thing is we already have a licenced shoe... so if we keep doing our homework AND we're lucky , we'll go 200 first time out.

We are building this car with the intent to go for a Flathead powered record. Right now the record is somewhere around 175mph in this class. Flathead power in this car is going to be a couple of seasons from now. Right now our only goal for the car is to use SBC power to work the bugs out and go as close to 200 as we can...

  18. Richard its a long story, that I really cant explain as well as LP, lets just say that this is a totally different build than that 1st post. We started from scratch all over again. But its going to be a huge learning expierence for us all.

    Bonneville 2007, cant wait...

Very cool. Always interesting to see the details of how different people decide to fit each major component into a tank.

  22. Is it documented anywhere, I'd love to see it coming together.

Gorgeous! How do you thread the driver in between the tubes???
The front end cage details I look forward to as well. Looking forward to updates.

  26. sorry, i dont think so. If you look closely you will see they are two totally different tanks. LP might have pics of the progress up to this point but nothing mentioned as to why we switched tanks. (I cant answer or I would)
We will try to document but some of us are slackers (me) and others are just too busy to photo document every step (loudpedal) and the others only lurk here but dont post, but we will try..

"How do you thread the driver in between the tubes???"

We have all been on strick diets and working out to loose weight no more Mickey D's, thats how we squeeze in there. ha,ha no not really you manage and you build around the big guys in the club. I was actually for the first time lumped in with the smaller guys when fitting, I guess the gut in front doesnt really matter its the width. :) I will tell you what its fun as shit to get fitted for sitting in it like we did last night, makes it seem for real ha,ha,ha..

Just remember when you go through tech they will make you get out of the tank in your suit and helmet in a timely matter. Its not as easy as it may appear. Your suit adds extra inches you don't really think about.
What are you guys doing for your door. Bobby and I had several different ideals before we came up with ours. (Old Crow Belly tank)
