i spent all weekend working on the coronet. i went to the D/FW swap meet friday then came home and went to work. on sunday night me and a buddy went for a littel ride. i got the brakes all working and got the transmition linkage working. i need to get a new genorator or an altonater and i think i dropped a valve. ill pull it apart after work tonight. and i still need a gastank. im using a 20 oz. bottle, so we ran out of gas a few times, and the cops called on us once. i had to explain why the car was on the road with not tags or inspection, a loud *** exaust leak and no working lights (this was at 1030 at night) anywho, me and johnny murdock are going to build a tank and some new pipes. and hopfully the motor doesnt need a rebuild yet, but if so, me and a guy at work are going to dig into that. ill post some pictures up tonight. and the drums that tom (53kustomdodge) sent me workes great.
Hey Bud, If your in Dallas than go over to Dallas Mustang off Miller and pickup 64-66 mustang fuel tank, they are pretty cheap ($). I know they are used on the 49-54 Chevys. You could probably make it work.
I was about to ask you if you had that thing going yet. Sounds like you are a few small problems away from having a great summer cruising. Do you still have the original tank? I had to get mine cleaned out and coated with plastic inside and out last summer. $400 bucks though. (ouch) A radiator shop could probably do it for you cheaper. Just be carfull about s****ing the ground with it when you pull into a drive way! Leaves so pretty nice gouges.
i have a steel fuel cell that was givin to me for free, so im using that. but im making a keg tank. and the cops just said to take it home and park it. so i did, after the long way home, it was too much fun. i just found this post, so i thought i would answer the questions and coments yall left.
