flasher problem

    just replaced front blinker 3 watt with 1 led. now my blinkers just glow dim. think i need a resister so flasher will work any ideas?
     
  2. You need a flasher unit designed for LEDs.

    What he said, you need a lower wattage "can of blinkers" or hide a lamp under the dash unseen to load the one you have, and blink the led.

    I think you can just switch to a "Heavy Duty" or "trailer flasher".
    They work on the opposite principle from the regular flashers that open the circuit when the lights are on, flowing current thru a set number of (regular) bulbs to "open" and "close".
    Instead they flow flasher current when the lights are off so they don't care how many bulbs are or aren't working in the system.

    the stock ,cheap flashers are resistance type.. you need a heavy duty motorized flasher. about $15 bucks at the auto parts store..will flash any # of lights led or not...

    LED flasher it is, I concur. LEDS don't pull as much of a load and a standard flasher won't do the job.

    I was in walmart and they sell the flashers for led lights
