Mine are toast. I checked all the typical vendors (Chev of the 40's etc etc) and nobody has doglegs. Since these are the worse spots on my otherwise solid 54, I ***ume it's a common area for rot. Any ideas before I spend hours fabricating? Thanks Todd
I think he means the part circled.I dont know what they look like on a moredoor 54.The pic is not of a 54.
Thats what they are-that arch in front of the rear wheel well-right at the door opening. I thought everyone called them doglegs...Maybe just us Canadians, eh? Todd
Wow, I immediately thought of the section from down the windshield post from the roof to the cowl which is a problem on all the early-mid 50s GM cars.
If anyone has a pair of doglegs or knows of a source, PM me and I'll foot the bill since I sold Todd the car. Kent
Ahhh OK, you crazy canadians!!! =) I don't know of a source, but I would sure get ahold of Flat-top Bob. He might be able to hook you up. And BTW, I don't have a name for that part so dogleg is good enough for me!
53-54 chevy and pontiac fits if i run across someting rust free in az i,ll get back to you. and yes dogleg is standard term. rookies what are you gonna do.
Keep watching Ebay also. I just bought one for my 61 Ford after waiting a year or so to see one on there.
Go to google and type in 54 chevy body panels i was trying to find some last week for my 2 door but cant remember the name of the site that had them but they were fairly cheap.
Thanks guys. I've googled for these and nothing comes up. If I had a Tri-5 Chevy I'd have no problems. Todd
