I am thinking about building a frontend flathead powered dragster, anyone have any place that I might look for plans, or any ideas on where to look. I am not sure what all is involved, all I know is that I have an extra 51 merc engine, waiting for something to go in. Since Gracie has planted the seed of the HAMB drags this year in my head, we need something to bring.......
I think I have a Mark Williams drawing of the FED ch***is he builds. You will need Autocad to view it.
I'd definately buy one and then drop your motor in it. It'll save money, time... and money... and time. Sam.
Oops ! I have the MW CAD drawing of the funny car/altered ch***is....not the FED. Sorry for the mistake.
there was one for sale in the advertiser or merchandiser here in zanesville less than a month ago. just the frame i think, maybe front end, for 850. i'l keep my eyes open, if i see it again, i'll pm you. how have the road devils been? haven't seen you guys for a long time.
Any chance that the frame in Zanesville was listed in anything? Auto Trader maybe? I guess the next question is if I got one of the plans from Mark Williams, what's the round about amount that this thing should cost, metal wise?
If you are serious about this, Dave Tuttle's shop, California Ch***is Engineering, can sell you a front-engine dragster in kit form. See http://www.dragsters.net/kits/kits.html You can find links to more related sites at http://www.roadsters.com/ndr/ and http://www.roadsters.com/ch***is/ Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
