Can I make a cheap air bag setup for 55-59 chevy truck with a Camaro clip? Or will I need to buy a Camaro setup from air ride tech? I have never done airbags before so any help would be great. Thanks

air ride tech makes a build it yourself kit that gives you everything you need to put bags in a coil spring frontend.

    yup.
there are around 4 diferent ways to do it, but I have questions...

how low are you trying to get?

how much work are you willing to do to the body?

    what is your budget?

have you sourced the clip yet?

    more, more!

i'm about to do one with a camaro clip, too. bags replace the coils, right? relocating the shocks is all im lookin' at. considered shockwaves but i think i can get it done with just regular bags.

of course, just talkin about the front.

hey LUX: any of them fancy "Techs" with pretty pictures for baggin a front clip? :D that last one was like gold.

Shockwaves are deffinatly not the cheap route. you can do a normal bags and relocate the shock behind the a arm. that would be alot less exspensive. And if done correctly will have more travel and a better ride.

If you're not prepared to weld and fabricate, then spend the money on the Shockwaves. They are plug and play other than having to clearance the front spring pocket on the frame so it doesn't rub on the bag. Front Camaro Shockwaves are about $900 pair.

Rockers on the ground. I guess I might need drop spindles to make this happen?

"how much work are you willing to do to the body?"

    As much as it takes

    what is your budget?

Budget it tight. I have more time then money and really looking for the cheapest way to go.

have you sourced the clip yet?

Yes, I am building a truck with a friend of mine who has frames and clips ready to go. He is an old hand at Camaro clips but never done one with bags.

I am also going to need input on doing the rear but it seem much more straight forward then the front.

If anyone has pictures of there setup that would be great. Thanks for all the input.
