RYan. I think me and Cole and Harvester... are gonna have to HEAD to Keiths one of these days and take some SINNER styled pictures with your COUPE that you will remember for the rest of your life........ Naked guys on BIKES???? we could call it HAMB PUNKD... and I will be ASTON Oh yeah, maybe me and cole will do a MOCK gay MARRIAGE. and all the SINNERS will be guests of HONOR and we will all be naked around the car!!drinking BUM wine with nothing on but PRISON SLIPPERS(tm).... we will have our MAN.. www.extremeelvis.com be the PREACHER and do the honors.. he's playing this summer at the LORDSOFHELLFIRE gathering.. austin next year for sure, I should have all my marbles back together... I like the COCKTRAIN coupe, it rules, Us tall GUYS are SWINGING the HEAVY SLEDGE HAMMERS.. so who needs CHANNELS
Looks cool, RYAN. When are you gonna drop it in? I'm just surprised that this post has over 750 views and 30+ replies, and no ass-kisser has given it 5 stars, yet.
Ryan- I think you're right- My oln 31 channelled pickup was a 4" channel no chop on cab- I sat in it and drove it a little-BUt it almost always cut off my breathing!it had "cushions"flat on the floor and with the seating that low it still killed me-Im only 5'8"
[ QUOTE ] Ryan, didnt know you were a flatty guy.Cool [/ QUOTE ] he's not, rickyracer is a ranchero guy.
Didn't connect it at first...but found this yesterday sifting through my hard drive...I think this is a pretty old picture
Oh shit , that gives me a stomache ache ! I hope whoever was driving that thing still has all thier front teeth ! . That is a steering wheel waiting to be eaten right there .
Flip's car was hands down one of the coolest I've ever seen. I was so bummed when I first heard about it. Now you're just going to make me cry again.
6'3"? What a co-inky-dink! I'm 3'6". So gimme the car, you brobdignagian mutant. Yow, that after-pic of Flip's coupe made me cry worse than a double bill of "Brian's Song" and "Field of Dreams."
To fit you your coupe you would have to be 3' 6". that think is tiny inside.. unless you are sitting in the runble seat area and looking thru both the back and front windows to see out (or over)
Ryan Slick mill. I understand your seating problem though, I'm only 5'11" and too much channel without putting wells in the floor just kills me. On the other hand it would be a shame to change the little coupe, so if you don't fit I'm just across town Be interested in seeing the end result, Tardel has a good eye and builds some pretty neat stuff.
Yeah, Keith is pretty much the smartest guy I know. He can make a traditional Ford revolutionary in ways that others have never even thought about doing. You have to see one of his cars in person to really understand it. He's one of my best friends, so obviously I'm biased... but, trust me on this one. At first it felt weird that he was building MY hot rod, but it is my dream car and he can do things I can't begin to. Afterall, this isn't a simple bolt together deal like my '38 was... Lots of fabrication and thinking and figuring and... well, you get the point. It's a VERY long term project and I would be pretty surprised to be driving it in a year or two. I'm so stoked to see the motor though... been thinking about driving Reggie's '32 and firing up that motor all day.
Like Mike Zenor said, we are short, feel free to pass your kick ass ride down to one of us who can fit in it .....seriously tho, thats gonna be one hell of a kickass ride once its all done, its already kickass as is. Whoever said earlier that you should put that flatty in a chevy....well....that doesnt need to happen . I know an older gentleman in Oregon that had an ol 32 with brand new edelbrock heads in the early fifties, I love talkin cars with that dude Maybe ill post an ol pic of him if i can find em Greg
[ QUOTE ] You think you tall guys have it so bad?????BooHooBooHoo...TRY BEING FAT AS HELL,and getting into a car like that..HUH?HUH?HUH?You think you got it bad??? Guess all you tall guys are pussies [/ QUOTE ] You can't go on a diet to get shorter. Edit: That wrecked '34 looks like a driver's training video from the mid-fifties. What a shame - that car has been very inspirational for my view of '34 coupes, which I used to hate because I thought you had to build them with gigantic supercharged big-blocks or hemis and too-big tires on the back.
Hey Ryan... damn nice ride there... what was the chop on it? I read in Rex's specs that it was a 4inch but looks way more in the photo on this thread... just wondering how much I am going to chop my 32 truck... I am 5'11" and maybe not going to channel it. I want a slammed chop for sure though. Nice work! blake
Great to see an update on the A bone Ryan!! Man I had not seen the pic of Flips 33 wrecked nor had I even heard it was wrecked.I thought that was the BEST looking 33/34 Coupe I have EVER seen!!!!!! What happened to after the crash, was it fixed???
A mag and twins, gonna kick butt. Like the chop, although, personally thought that the original 'tall/unchopped' look was not only 'refreshingly different', but also fitting for the 40's build. Either way, very cool, Cheers, Drewfus
Very nice score Ryan! The A body on deuce rails always look great. Do you need an updated rendering of the Cochran's Garage coupe? Send me an e-mail at home if you want. Chris
Man am I jealous. Where in the hell can a guy without your connections score one of these? I would love to find one to build that wasn't solid ass rust, but where? Another thing Ryan. How come you never see traditional style hotrods around here? After seeing those pictures...I've got my eyes peeled. This board is sucking me in, that thing is awesome.
Jason... traditional hot rods have never been big around Midland... Not sure why. I didn't see my first traditional car till I moved to France - ironic. Anyway, if you really wanna get sucked in and learn about all of this stuff you need to buy as many Dean Batchelor books as ya can. Start with this one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0760313032/qid=1080879359/sr=1-8/ref=sr_1_8/104-7163238-7603904?v=glance&s=books There are lots of different trains of thoughts on how a car should be built today, but these books give ya a foundation atleast. From there you can decide exactly what you are into...
I agree with Ryan Keith is AWSOME!! He builds a bad ass car!! Now I am going to cry seing pics of my car and all the kind words. The car is in pieces in my garage and driveway at this time. I was planning on building my 32 and turning the three window into a bonneville car.? Keith is sooooo busy that we haven't had time to work on the race car chassis, or the put the roadster frame in the jig yet, for that matter. Either way the car will live again. I crashed it on the way back from the 2001 or 2002 river city reliability run, and that was the best and worst day all in one. my dream car wrecked in shitty L.A. of all places. Hey the ribs stopped hurting after a couple months and the tooth was lost in another crash but......Fuck seing that car still hurts. FLIP
Hey Ryan...I gotta idea! You can build that bad ass car and then let me drive it! I'm 5'5 - 135lbs. I can fit in anything!!! I needed a phone book and pedal extensions when I tried to drive Big Ric's 40. Just an idea!
Ryan, cool little car & perfect timing putting it on here.....i've just picked up Dusty's old coupe from the docks & have model A on the brain 24hrs a day right now. Still have some work to do on my 32 & make the shop a little bigger but should get started before the year is out! Shame Dusty sold it as they would have looked good parked together.
Germ, Grimlock, anyone? I want to use that photo of the smashed coupe in a HAMB friendly project I'm working on. Who do I need to talk to? Owner, photographer?
